You almost made your point...all those underlined keywords shoulda been links to your website! :)

Don't laugh, I have read some agent's website homepage copy and seen the same keywords repeated over and over, some sentences not even making sense. Now, we all Google is not that dumb!! ; )))

I know Ron....but then would it have been a parody? or a real attempt at SEO?

Could that, perhaps, be perceived as SPAM by a search engine?

Hi Karen; Pretty funny, except have seen sites like that! Guess people forget that even if the search engines like it, doesn't really matter if humans don't bother to read it!

I paid for SEO through my web hosting company more than a year ago and they wrote some pretty stupid text. It got my site higher in the search engines but really made no sense when I read it. I spent alot of money to have it done, then alot of time to rewrite it to something that wouldn't sound rediculous to my site vistors!

Hi Karen - What's scary is that I've seen some templated websites that write very close to this, and there was no way to edit it. I tried to tell them "search engines don't buy homes, people do."

I know it's a fine line....as with everything. But some of these websites that get to the top of the searches really annoy me. I have a far better website with interesting content, and these other sites trick their way to the top and offer nothing but a form to fill out for the client.
