Thinking of migrating moving to Oakville, Ontario?  Or is it time to leave Oakville for greener pastures?  Many species migrate twice a year.  That's a lot of work.  Building a nest can take some effort.  Settling in, exploring your neighbourhood, making new friends takes time.  New adventures unfold.  Many thrive in their new surroundings and never look back.  Others eventually make their way back "home".

Whether you are flying solo, with a partner or with a flock always remember "Home is where the heart is."

Jenny - Some (not sure if all) of the birds in your photos seems to be very good at multitasking.  Today they are moving but I'm sure if seen many of those same birds doing acrobatics, exercise, going to school or other activities.

The two birds swimming in the third photo from the bottom seem to be electrified or shocked.  Did you see the hair on the backs of their heads standing on end?

Nicely done. :)   I will call you for sure, when I think of migrating to Oakville ... even if it's just to have a coffee (and if I win the lottery, you can sell me a nice waterfront condo). :)

Thanks Mary - You have probably seen some of these photos before.  I recycled them for this post.  I was actually going to enter a contest on Flickr for bird photos and you are allowed to enter 2 different ones.  I was going to do a post asking AR members to choose for me but chickened out and did this instead.

Hi C Team - Thanks for stopping by. I always enjoy seeing your happy faces.

Hi Fred - That would be a long flight through the mountains.  Think of the beautiful places along the way to stop though.

Hi Haris - I'm happy that you came back to see my photos.  I hope you are enjoying it here at AR.

Hi Amy - I really like your new photo.  Speaking of flight plans, how about those 2 airline pilots??

Hi Marc - Yes you are very observant.  You have seen most of these little critters on these pages before.  Those two little guys went to school with mohawk hairdos that day.

Hi Sylvie - Coffee is expensive here to but if you promise me you will come out for a visit, I will certainly spring for the coffee.  Maybe lunch too lol.

Hi Caron - It just kind of sprang to mind.  Late night blogging, you know.

Jenny,

This is quite the collection of birds - well-photographed. We have many of these same ones. :)

Jenny, I've always liked birds...these are some great shots...I'm a little surprised the Turkey Vulture let you get that close.

Hi Steve - Thanks, these were all taken over the summer so I have some great memories.

Hi Marc - Yes I gave the mohawk ducklings photo a second go round.

Hi Kathy - It was nice to explore some different lakefront parks this summer.  There were so many close by that I'd never ever been to before.

Hi Nick - I wasn't that close actually.  I zoomed in on him.  I was in a cemetery and the trees were full of them.  It was kind of eerie.  Did you know that when there is a group of turkey vultures together it's called a wake?  I did a post on it in Aug or Sept. I think.

Hi Bob - Wow, I'm honoured.  Thanks so much.  I love your groups.

Jenny, let me get this straight...a group of vultures is called a wake and there just happened to be a group of them at a cemetery?  That's too much.  I'll check out your post.

Hi Nick,

Isn't that wild?  I was a bit spooked when I saw them.

Another thing Nick.  This was August or Sept. and there were no leaves on that tree.  It must have been dead too.

Jenny...   I love your photos!  Last week my husband bought me a canon Eos Tli, I spent the weekend in Payson, Arizona photographing the birds, trees and even was able to capture a beautiful sunset.
