I have seen quite a few posts this week... more and more of then as we get close to the weekend... about "turning our clocks back" this coming Sunday.

You know... the old "Spring Forward, Fall Back" routine.  I have also seen that although some folks get excited about having an extra hour to accomplish "this or that..." most folks usually talk about if they turn back the clock one hour... they can get an extra hour of sleep.

So... here is my question.  If... instead of turning my clocks back ONE hour... I turn them back TWENTY-FIVE hours... could I possibly get away with an entire extra DAY of sleep ?

I am tired... and I need to make this work... LOL.  Any suggestions ?

Brian:  Thanks so much... I think we all need to call Congress.  The more help, the better... :)  Maybe we can even get Glenn Beck behind it... so he can do something worthwhile for a change... LOL.

Sally and David:  Power nap ?  I often find that I am tempted to "power nap" while I am driving.  Prolly not a good idea.  Hmmm... getting up at 5 am ?  Usually the only way I can be awake at 5 am... is if I am still up from the night before.  Five in the morning... just sounds so "painful."  But... if it works for you... Too Cool !

I'm tired of turning the clock back...period! I wish they would keep it where it is all year long and allow us to enjoy an extra hour of light in the afternoon instead of in the morning. I don't have a problem going to work in the dark, but coming home in the dark YUCK.

Karen Anne,

You and me both.  This is a fantastic idea!  I'm surprised nobody else has thought about it before now.

Steve:  Yer an old "spoil sport"... ya know !  Such a lot of work... turning the clocks back.  Maybe vitamins would help ?  LOL.  Honestly, I think the biggest help is that it is so hard on the kids when they leave to go to school in the morning... and it is pitch-black outside.  At least this gives them a little bit of daylight.

Hi Karen Anne,

Love it!

I'm not sure many people out side the Real Estate Industry understand how tired we all are. Nap? With 25 hours and a blank slate for the day, I could catch up with my girlfriends, go to dinner with my husband and catch a nap. WOW!

Paggy:  It sounds like you see your days just about the same as I see mine.  Catching up with my girl friends ?  Check !  Going to dinner ?  Check !  Catch a nap ?  Check !

Now... for that "husband thingie" you got going on... I don't have one of those.  My motto has become... "A Woman without a Man... is like a Fish... without a Bicycle !"

Great idea Karen! I am still confused about the time change in the spring being earlier last year and later in the fall. What happened to that?

Barb:  I don't know what happened... but... when ANYTHING goes wrong, and ya don't know who to point fingers at... blame Sarah Palin !  It works for me... LOL.

By the way... did you hear they sent out a notice to the girls and parents... that they are going to close Regina ?  Everyone got caught by surprise, from what I hear, and they are banding together to see if they can keep it open.  Let me know if you have heard anything... OK ?  To close it... would be a real shame.

It's tempting to just shut the dang clock off, turn off the cell phone and computer and spend those 25 hours sleeping.

Karen Anne:  I know that the extra day would only get gobbled up with seemingly worthless chores.  And there I'd be, angry at wasting a free day.

Karen - I once flew across the international date line and was confused for over a week .... so I don't recommend this :)

Stewart:  Just imagine if you had flown across the international date line on the weekend our clocks get turned back.  You might have never been heard from again.  That sounds like it would produce a "breech" in the "space-time continuum"... as they said in "Back To The Future."  Scary stuff, Stewart.

Karen, I believe it's official that Regina will close. We even got a letter to that effect, blaming it on low enrollment, economy, demographics, etc... I think there have been many tears shed over this particular closing and being that I am a graduate, I share in their sadness:(

Hi, Karen Anne. It always takes me a few days to get used to the time change but it really confuses my animals. The two horses, especially, expect to eat when they expect to eat, regardless!

Great idea Karen Anne - now how do we make it happen? 25 hours and maybe we could get caught up on all my projects...nah, I could use the rest.

7:22pm • #29

That's funny.  Haven't heard anyone suggest that, Karen.  I just wish we didn't have to change at all.  It takes a while to adjust, plus it's so depressing when it goes dark at 5:30.  Boo!

Karen Anne - It can't hurt to give it a try. Unless of course you have a showing on Monday or something... they may not understand the extra day.

Does this mean when SPRING AHEAD March 8th, 2:00 A.M. comes rolling around, you will loose 24 hrs of sleep and I would loose 1-week???

Aw you couldn't disappear for 25 hours.  You might miss something lol.  It was sad seeing the sun going down just after 5 o'clock today. :(  I was driving and trying to change the clock in my new car.  I'm still changing them in the house.  Pain in the you know what.

I like your idea, Karen Anne.  Unfortunately, the last two states I've lived in are Indiana and Arizona, the only two states of the contiguous 48 that don't observe daylight saving time. I'm stuck in the present.

(As for Glenn Beck, no hope for any usefulness - even if he pushes your idea...don't want him to break down and cry about how clocks are destroying our country)

BTW, you're a hoot!
