Home Stagging, Home Staggers, Home Stageing

These are just a few of the different variations I’ve seen on the spelling of Home Staging.

For those of us that are in the home staging industry, we may find ourselves cringing when we read those words.

The truth of the matter is that we’re still in a relatively new industry. With reason, we should anticipate that there’s going to be some confusion as to how exactly spell Home Staging.

In addition to misspellings (jeez, I hope I spelled that correctly (smile)), I recently received a google alert on "house staging." While I've never personally referred to what I do as "house staging", I suppose I could.

I'm curious as to the other spelling variations on Home Staging as well as the different phrases used to describe the process.  For example, a couple years back, I recall a blog on home staging being referred to as "house fluffing." That particular post drew some funny comments on what "fluffing" means.

Feel free to add your misspellings and phrases to the comments in this blog.

Kathy - I've seen a few home staggers but I always felt they'd just had a bit too much to drink : )

Kathy ~ you've covered most of the variations I've seen on Home or House Staggers, etc.  I have one thing to say to those people: call me whatever you like, but call me!!  :-)

Too funny, John!

Maureen - that would have made for a PERFECT blog title.  You're so clever!

You know Kathy it's funny that you write this post today.  Just yesterday night I was telling my husband that they should add the words 'Staging' and 'Stager' to the dictionary because they're here to stay!  Whenever I write them, a spelling mistake line appears and suggests I change the word to 'Stagging' or 'Stagger'.  I just ignore it and added the word to the dictionary :)

Kathy this post of yours inspired me to create my latest on the misconceptions about our jobs.  I've never seen it but how about Home Staggering....sometimes I am staggering when I'm done with a job, not from alcohol but from exhaustion.  Fun.

I assume that staging is the correct spelling :-)    Wish spell check would see it that way

Lina - I too wished they'd add to the dictionary (and spellcheck). I ignore those little red squiggly little lines and post away.

Ginger - been there myself. The bigger projects can be draining, for sure.

Virginia - some day soon (I hope).

Teresa - we should probably have verbiage in our websites so that we're capturing those phrases.

Cathy - How funny.

Cindy - You restager, you.  That's a new one for me.

I got searched yesterday for "house staggering 123". I'm still scratching my head over that one.

So, I'm wondering if any of you use these spellings in your tags in an attempt to get the searches?

Funny to read this, as it may take 100 plus years for the public to get it right, since Realtors are still being called Realators by so many.

I don't get it.  What's the problem?  Hic.

It continually amazes me how often I see those, and they always make me think of either male deer or staggering. I also see alot of "dinning rooms", and think they must be noisy places to eat.

It just goes to show you how new the industry is and how much we have come to depend on things like spell check. If we hit up the kindergarten teachers now perhaps the next generation will get it straight.
