Equal Housing     Realtor

One of the hardest things about starting a "new" profession is ....getting over the hump!

There is no manual to read explaining how long that will be. How long it will be before you don't get sweaty palms before meeting a new client, get tongue tied trying to convert an inquiry to a potential Buyer or not have a clue as to how to handle the simplest of situations! Feeling like you"get it"....seems to take forever!

I finally have gone over that hump! I am finally comfortable in my Realtor Skin. Not to say that I'm an expert...Lord knows I'm not. But I'm sure on what I do know and not afraid to ask...what I don't. I'm comfortable with being myself and finding that my clients...like me that way.   I show that I really do care...and they know it!

Sure I have a lot more to learn. I'm learning every day! That's what life is all about!

But there are such rewards...ones you never thought of causing happy faces, fulfilling dreams, helping create a future. These are but a few!

I had a phone call today...from a past client. He called to see how I was! ...I repeat....he called to see how I was! I have a new friend!

I love this job! This job is right "up my ally"                  heart

Yes, I love it when one of my clients, past and present, email or call to see how I am.  It means a lot.

Never loose the love in between appraisals, home inspections and disgruntled clients.  Stay focused and remember why we do what we do.

I, too, love it when I hear from my past clients.  I get updates, pictures of new born kids- updates and even invitations to family events.  This is what really makes the job worth while.  Sometimes, when things are difficult it is easy to ask why am I doing this?  Those special moments sharing with a client are priceless --

Isnt it great the friendships we make in real estate. I love hearing from past clients. I have a client that is having a big bash at their new house and she is sending a special invite to me. I worked with her for about two months and she said she talked to me on the phone more than she did her best friend. I believe I have a friend and client for life.

Joan, I loved reading your post and so happy you love what you do!  I am fortunate enough to have formed lasting friendships as well and it's a wonderful feeling; last year I attended a son's wedding of a former client-turned friend.  Thanks for a wonderful post!

Your clients are going to appreciate your comfort level with yourself- that kind of confidence is contagious.  I'm glad, for you and your efforts, that you are experiencing the upside- the person that thought of you today likely thinks of you whenever the subject of real estate comes up- that old referral thing!  Congratulations, Joan!
