Yup...you read it right! Snow in October...and lots of it!!! The state of Colorado got it!!! Usually our friends call and say "I hear you are getting snow..wow that's a lot of snow" and we say "no...that's not us, that's the mountains...we have SUNSHINE!" This time when they called and asked about the snow...we said "yes...that's us and it's still snowing!!!" This was a good one!! Fun stuff! I love it when it just comes down! We came up to our house in Livermore for the week for down time...and boy did we get down time!!! 3 1/2 feet of snow!!! My husband says "don't worry we have a 4-wheel truck, we'll never get stuck". Day 1...the truck is in the ditch right off our driveway! 3 FT FROM THE PROPANE TANK!!! Ok..don't touch the truck...we need some help here!
A day later...a big...no huge...tractor comes and plows us out and pulls out the truck! I've never laughed so hard to see my husband scratching his head looking at the truck in the ditch...thinking how'd that happen (shhh...he's still a Florida driver at heart and 4 wheel drive isn't the miracle machine to keep you from sliding - I'd like to tell that to about thousand drivers on the road!!!)
The dogs were having a blast! When you could see them! My dixie was walking through the snow like she was swimming in a lake...they really didn't know what to make of it! I love to watch them have so much fun.
The sun is trying hard to come out. Maybe some snowshoeing later in the day. Stay dry and warm and enjoy life! No matter what it is or what happens you can have fun with it!
