How I use My Blog to Connect with Current, Past and Future Clients

Just today I as I ponder how to cover this topic; I receive an email. At first I thought it was a marketing piece. While reading the email I noticed the sender was looking for a new office location. So I responded with a phone call. It turn out the sender was looking to advertise their services but how they found me was through a referral of a closed commercial client. It appears my closed commercial client was forwarding my emails to their friends. I hope to meet with this customer on Monday to look at their operation and start my search. This customer is looking for a new property in Kenner LA.

Over the past couple of years I have closed several deals either directly from my blog and /or referrals received through Active Rain. There are many ways to use your blog to stay in contact with past, present and future clients.

First of all, as mention earlier I send out links to my followers on current post. I have a fair balance of Homes for sale type post and local interest stories. Referrals have come from past clients who send my links to friends.

Secondly, lead conversion is a big factor. Often I have an email or calls on properties of interest. For one reason or another the property does not work out. So I will set up the client on a hot list. From there I will do group emails.

Thirdly, Closed clients even though we have close the transaction they continue to receive emails with links to my new post. I fully believe that my past clients are my best source of new business. This is a way to keep my name in front of my closed clients on a weekly bases.

As far as cost, it is minimal and the effective is large. The true cost is your time. I am sure there are many more ways to stay connect. As long as you do, you will remain with a constant base of business. I encourage all to follow up after the sale is closed. If you do not have a system of following up with your past business you need to start something as simple as my emailing links to your past clients.
