At 13 weeks old a Halloween costume, that I purchased on RI, was put on my first grandchild, my grandson, Nolan Bryce Corbett. I was in SC for his first Halloween.

Happy Halloween 2004 Nolan

It was on October 19th 2004 that I flew into the Greenville-Spartanville International Airport (GSP) to help with taking care of him while my daughter-in-law, Victoria, recovered from a Staph infection. that placed her back into the hospital after having the c-section delivery on August 6th for Nolan. I stayed until after having the First Thanksgiving with my son and his family. John, Mark and Buddy drove to SC to have Thanksgiving with us and to take me back to RI.

How I hated leaving them, I enjoyed being there for Nolan's first turning over, first sitting up, first oatmeal and applesauce, his laughing, his giggling and of cause his crying episodes.

Since this time there have been no more Halloweens together, so my daughter-in-law created a blog on Wednesday, December 19, 2007, so I could seen the events in their lives with photos and her writings. Her blog is My 2 lil Pumpkins. She asked me to create a blog, too for the events in RI  Mine that I created on December 21, 2007 is called Chat with Kathleen. I have loved blogging ever since.

What a nice collection of halloween pictures.  It can be a lot of fun pulling out these old memories and making them live again even for a brief moment.  It must be hard to be so far away from them though.

CHARLES: Thank for enjoying my grandson's Halloween costumes. It most definitely is difficult being away from them. I did spend time with them last October when I watched them for my son to go to NH to be in his his college friend's wedding with my daughter-in-law. We had 3 days totally to ourselves and it was fantastic.

Theodora: Thank you for stopping by. I loved that pumpkin suit and bought it before Nolan was born. I knew a boy or a girl could wear it so I bought a 3-6months and saved it.

What cute Lil Pumpkins, Kathleen!  There should be a law that all grandchildren live within walking distance of their grandmothers! LOL :o)

You are a great mother-in-law, Kathleen!  That pumpkin outfit for your newborn grandchild is just adorable!  Your grandchildren are very fortunate to have such a loving grandmother!!!!

DIXIE nd DICK: I totally agree  families move forward when the grandchildren arrive. You see so much of your own children in the actions that they do. Having these grandsons in my life and in our family makes us so blessed.

SHIRLY, I would definitely agree to that law. It is so difficult to put your arms around them and give that grandma loving that you want to do when they are miles and hours away from you. Thank goodness for technology and webcams and skypeKathleen Ann.

What a great group of photos. Kids at that age can be wonderful, and so innocent. I am always amazed at how our 8 month old knows who we are and lights up with big smiles when we're around. Here's a photo of myself with my gransdon Raphael Michael.

Kathleen, even though it is not the same as being there, the Internet sure has helped to bridge much of the gap between us and the ones we love.

Kathleen, Since I have several google alerts, sometimes I see blogs that are private family blogs, similar to what you had, have. It is so nice for families to be able to post and chat away. Blogging has certainly changed the way we view family photos albums.

Mary, thanks to my daughter-in-law,  Vicky in SC She gave me her blog as a christmas gift in Dec. 2007, she called it

http://2lilpumpkins.blogspot.com

so I could see  my 2 little toddlers growing and asked me to create one for our family in RI.  Actually I began blogging in December 21, 2007 before I ever knew about real estate blogs or active rain. I created chatwithKathleen I have been loving blogging ever since. I was an avid scrapbooker, journal writer in dairies and photo album person, Now the computer has changed all that  work to an on line blog. I can't remember the last roll of film I developed. The world is changing and I have passionately moved into the technology world.
