Speechless Sundays - Underwater Pumpkin Carving

Our son's diving club had a dive party yesterday and the emphasis was on carving a pumpkin underwater. As you can see it says easier than it does. A pumpkin underwater is both slippery and buoyant. Also, he used a blunt edge diving knife.

Now that is certainly a different take on pumkin carving! LOL!

Tim and Pam They had a barbecue party as well, but no alcohol - not allowed when diving - he had a ball. Karen

That would not be something I'd like to try. Looks like your son had a great time with it :)

Jim and Maria The week before Thanksgiving they'll be diving for turkeys, but the ones in the water will be artificial (keeps the fish from eating them) Karen

Karen--Love the photo and how every club/organization has a different spin on a holiday. He didn't do so bad considering the conditions he had to work under. Nice to see another member of your family! :)

He did a pretty good job, especially on the mouth.

My art skills leave a lot to be desired- I probably couldn't do better not underwater

I havent been diving in about 6 years. So much fun. Carving pumpkins underwater is pretty unique. Hadn't heard of that before. Has he done this in past years or is this the first?

Nick My sun thinks decorating a tree underwater is a fantastic idea - he will suggest it at the next meeting

John This is the first time his club has done it - he's been diving for about 16 years

I'd like to find a local place/group to go diving. Its been years. My friends and I took a trip to Belize for one week and did some diving there. It was just beautiful.

John There are several very large quarries in our are that have been flooded for recreational diving - some as deep as 125'

Your son is a wild man...tell him not to plug in the lights!!!!!!!

Nick I just talked to my sun and he said the club president agreed and the plans will be started right after the turkey dive

Karen...I've got a big smile on my face just trying to visualize that! Like I said, he's a wild one...so how do get pictures of that??
