What Do You Do When Someone Eats Your Pumpkin?

By
Home Stager

Well I carved my pumpkin this morning and put it on the porch all ready.

But when I went to light it for Halloween ..... Some little creature had eaten a big hole in the face!

So What was I to do!

Answer ..... buy a mask at the dollar store!

So now you know, if there is nothing but little teeth marks where the eyes and nose used to be ... get a mask. LOL

These are my other pumpkins. As you can see they are not impressed.

Happy Halloween

What a great post.  Sorry about your pumpkin getting a big bite out of it but if you had those mighty pumpkin dogs at that door, just sitting there waiting. ..... oh, who would know.   The modification works well!

I gave up on the pumpkins this year because the squirrels thought they were at a pumpkin buffet!  Using a mask was a great idea! I wish I would have thought of that!!!

Barb, Yes I should have had the four legged pumpkins on guard. They do love chasing squirrels!

Carrie-Lynn, I've never had one of my pumpkins attacked before. They are usually polite enough to wait until it is on the compost heap. Glad you like the mask ;)

Very resourceful solution to your pumpkin problem!  Poor little critters thought you had left them a treat!

A very creative solution to the problem.  No your pumpkins don't look impressed.  Much like the little under three trick or treaters that come to my house.  They have that what the heck look on their faces!

Thanks everyone. Yes, Mr. Top Dog spent most of the time trying to scrape his costume off but the Family Princess put up with it. LOL. The kids love them though.

Ana, I just couldn't believe it when I saw the damage! The little devils have buried things in my planters but they've never eaten my Halloween pumpkin before.

At first I thought the dogs were the culprits - until I read that it was squirrels!  I'm so glad we don't have those pesky critters over here.  We just have to deal with mongoose, which aren't so bad, at least not for pumpkins.

Too cute!  It's possible the mask made the pumpkins cuter than they were in the first place, if your carving skills are anything like mine! jus' kiddin'! =o)

Georgina - Maui! I envy you as I head into another winter. I've never seen a mongoose so I'll have to take your word for it about being better than a squirrel. LOL

Cheryl - Actually I think the mask did improve the pumpkin. I went for a very simple face this year instead of the more intricate ones I have done in the past. Maybe that's why the little critters ate it ... they're really pumpkin critics and I got a thumbs down. LOL

Oh, what cuties you have at home. :)  We had the same problem next door, with someone or something eating the pumpkin.  Half the face was taken off.... and no mask could have fixed it.   Yours, however, looks great.  A pumpkin at a masquerade ball. :)

Thanks Sylvie. He does look like he's ready for a masqerade ball! LOL

Yes my cuties are 9 and 11 yrs now. The one in the doorway is in my lap now. Every time I sit at the computer she has to nap in my lap ;)

David thanks. Luckily I found the mask at the last minute;)
