There's not much that I like better than spending time at the beach. While it's only a short distance from my house, it seems I just don't get there often enough.

I was out on a long bike ride recently with my camera and stopped along the beach where the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon joins the ocean in Carlsbad California. The jetties there provide some interesting photo ops, but a video seemed even better, since the tide was coming in and the waves were a decent size. So, for those of who who cannot get to the ocean very often, or who just enjoy the sound of waves crashing against the rocks, enjoy! And while you're watching these waves, I'm watching the waves in Cancun. :)

Jeff, never take the ocean for granted!  Some day you might find yourself in a place like DC where it's no bike ride to the beach, unless you're an iron man!

Thank you.  You beat me to it.  I was thinking of doing the same thing.  There's nothing like it.  Beautiful

Jeff, I hope you are getting to spend today at the beach! With cake!  I am a beach lover! Any beach. This week it was a beach in Anchorage AK - not "wadding water" but still fun and invigorating!

Jeff - I could watch that video all day.  I may be near the ocean but we don't have waves like that crashing on the rocks even when the tide is coming in.  Happy Birthday my friend and enjoy your time in Cancun! :)

Great idea Jeff.  Almost makes me want to record it and put it into a loop on my tape player and fall asleep to it!  ;-)

Hi Jeff ~ You could market this as a relaxation tape or a stress reducer. Marvelous! Cancun, huh? Bet it was wonderful!

This reminds me of how the waves hit the rocks in Ponce Inlet jetty here. I was just there yesterday =)  I'm in the midst of a Ponce Inlet post too. Mine has no waves this time though ;-)

ALL: Well I shouldn't be doping this but I am. Thanks for the comments. Will be posting a video I took this morning in Cancun with Hurricane Ida off the coast. Flights are still on so we will, hopefully, be leaving this afternoon and getting back to some nicer weather in San Diego.

The surf is wild today and it's still very windy and rainy (the storm is about 60 miles to the east, thankfully) as it has been pretty much since Wednesday. But the ocean is always a pleasure no matter what the weather. My first AR comment since last Saturday - a first!!

Jeff, I can't wait to see your Cancun video!  But, this one is also wonderful.  Even the sound of the waves breaking on the rocks is soothing.  I have been away from AR for a while so I hope you are doing well!

Look at me....we live minutes in any direction to the beaches....the only thing we do is go look at turtles and snap shots of the ocean. Swim? nah... Surf? no way.... Bottom line....the few minutes here and there is worth any vacation anywhere :)
