Have any of you ever thought about the fact that real estate professionals are some of the ONLY people who include their picture on their business cards?  I've racked my brain trying to think of other people/professionals who include their photo on their business cards, but to no avail.

Why do you think real estate professionals are practically the only ones with pictures on their cards?

Name and face recognition can be key when dealing with consumers in our business!!  Pick your poison...great head shot or a catchy name/slogan!!  All the best!!

In my opinion It feels more personal. I just ordered mine and asked the similar question.

Stephen - Thanks for stopping by.  I totally get the benefits of name/face recognition... I just don't understand why other professionals don't utilize a photo.

Daniel - How can a beach and dolphins ever be a bad thing?  Thanks for the comment.

Haris - Thanks for your input.

Insurance agents often times do as well.  But I have to agree that name recognition is really a key for real estate agents.

I've seen a lot of real estate professionals' business cards who should have left their pictures off their cards.  My advice to them, "don't forget to smile."

The simple card without a photo is my preference.  I have seen lots of cards witht the glamor shots on them and then met the person and have been surprised at the difference.  Sometimes positive, sometimes negative.

I agree with Philip - most photos are glamor shots and taken years ago. I'm most often surprised with the person shows up in person.

I have heard it can be for recognition and I guess that may be the only reason - but at least you should use a photo that looks like you!

I agree, it's the "personal" touch.  Since buying or selling a home is such a major decision, we want to assure our clients that we have a face behind the name!

Thanks for the input everyone.  I must say I'm a victim of the dated photo.  I took mine over 4 years ago and need to update it with a new one.
