"There is far more opportunity than there is ability."

                        Thomas Edison

My take on this is that Edison is saying people don't take advantage of all the opportunities out there. They give up too soon, or don't even try because nay-sayers convince them it won't work. My philosophy is of course it will not work if you don't even try.

How many foods have you liked once you try them? How many people have you found out you liked once you get to know them? And hoe many times have you given up when something didn't work the first time?

If you want to succeed, you have to try. Then keep trying. Then try something else until you find something that works for you.

Use that other 90% of our brain where rumoured to never use!

Ann, you made me smile with the analogy to trying new foods. It couldn't be simpler. We just have to do it

Ann so true.  I might add that there's also lots of plans and ambitions and not enough work ethic and ability to carry them through.

Opportunity is where one looks for it. Thanks for posting the reminder.

Really good post and great reminder to keep trying.  Even Edison had to keep trying many times before he was successful with the light bulb.  Some people call it sticktoitiveness - or something like that.
