I thought people might find this interesting.

Here is really neat interactive map of Canada from CBC News. It shows house prices and apartment rents all across the country. The data shown is gathered from MLS and CMHC statistics. It is very interesting to see what home prices and rents are throughout our great country.

I like this tool! When people ask me why we are moving from Whitby to Halifax I'll tell them to look at this map.

Thanks Michael, for the great link. I have seen this information before as a graph, but the interactive map makes it so much more interesting. It also really highlights the changes we have seen here in the western provinces in the past year.

Thanks Mike for bringing this to our attention.

However, I think a REALTOR®might point out to the CBC some errors about "average sale prices from MLS statistics".

For instance, the CBC web site gives the same May average sale price for residential properties in Halifax-Dartmouth as appears on the published CREA national stats on www.realtorlink.ca.

But the CBC site says that that average sale price represents "Average resale home prices" (my emphasis). However all REALTORS® know that our monthly residential sales numbers include all ages (including all new homes)sold on MLS in the month.

Yes sir, no one knows real estate like a REALTOR®.

(I can spot at least one other error in the East coast. Can anyone else spot it?)
