What an odd looking tree.  It would be fitting in the old TV show "The Adams Family".  Da Dun Da Dun Da Dun Da!!!!(you are not old enough to have seen that TV series, Kristen)

That is really a weird looking tree, Kristin.  It does look like it could be two different tree types with the different types of bark.  You need to relax a little more there girl when you go walking!  You are supposed to enjoy the walk and not analyze everything! :-))
