Sorry, that content is protected

Detractors of Twitter frequently ask "who cares what I'm doing right now?" Apparently Google and Bing care, as both major search engines are moving forward with plans to index tweets.

Bing is also going to index Facebook status updates, while Google recently launched Social Search, a Google Labs experiment "that helps you find more relevant public content from your broader social circle."

Will this change how you use Facebook and Twitter? Will you optimize your status updates and tweets with keywords, or keep them more spontaneous?

The question is?

Will this change how you use Facebook and Twitter? Will you optimize your status updates and tweets with keywords, or keep them more spontaneous?

Curious minds want to know.

Thanks for sharing this info! I sometimes find that I find more useful, targeted info for me on Twitter and Facebook than through a search, so I think it's great that they'll be indexing soon!

I think this is fantastic. Yet another reason why those of us who are using social media will get 'credit' for it.

Don't forget, they also index Active Rain. I found this blog post by searching for what does Google Index. Good post.
