I had the wonderful privilege of being the guest of Mary Bigelow at the VIP party for the projected Platinum certified LEED Herkelrath Project in Onekama, MI as a kickoff for the Energy Fair. What a blast!!  And what an experience to see firsthand this home (with newly installed windmill) that Mary has written several posts about and to meet the people who put so much time and dedication into this project.  First there is Adam, the Hybrid Guy, and their new trailer which made it's debut.Christi Hughes, Heidi Bearup He has such a passion for this home and is so knowledgeable.  He can captivate an audience. The wives (Heidi Bearup and Christi Hughes, top) who helped host this event were gracious as well as the homeowner, Steve.  Sorry Steve, I didn't get your picture. Others involved with this great HYBRID home that I met were Jake with R-Value Concrete and John from CertainTeed. I also got to chat with Eric Hughes of Image Design and Buzz Holtvluwer of Standale Lumber, and David Bahle, Thorntree Commons @ Sutton's Bay.  He and his car are a blog in themselves.  Let me just say, he's GREEN!   I'm looking forward to seeing the home when it's completed - hopefully Mary can get us a post on that.  Also, looking forward to her feedback on the Energy Fair.   She'll have a lot of great pictures and exciting information to share.  Thanks for the invite Mary!!

Thanks Ed! Isn't this just a fun group of people to be around! One of the biggest comments at the Energy Fair was that total strangers wanted to know what made TEAM Hybrid so happy, upbeat and positive! "We want to work with the huggers!", they would say!  This is a strong TEAM of people and I think the TEAM concept is what brought this project together so well! I don't have a shortage of ideas to share, they will be forthcoming! I'm so glad you were able to attend, you made it just a little more special!

Please be advised that this house is projected Platinum and will most likely acheive that status, but we can not say that it is Platinum level. We can get in a lot of trouble for that. "Projected Platinum"

Other than that, thanks for the write up and I am glad you had a great time learning about Hybrid Homes!

Hi Adam - my apologies.  Glad you brought that to my attention. I've corrected it.  I couldn't stop talking about the home to my husband.  It's amazing!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out the post, Lola.  I could've easily put in another 20 pictures from the party since I met so many people and took a lot of great pictures of the awesome views of the lake.
