Curb Appeal??????

I just entered this picture in The Second Codger Carnival of Curb Appeal!  and thought I would share it via a blog so everyone who does not normally visit their blog would see it.  It was taken in AUGUST of 2004.  If you've ever been in Vegas in AUGUST you know it's between 110 and 120 degrees!  The seller packed up and left town with this on the curb...and guess who got the brunt of in????????  I had calls from neighbors, people driving by and the city coming in all weekend.  Sellers left town late on Friday afternoon and it was impossible to get anyone to take care of this matter over the weekend.  I did not know exactly how bad it was and what I had to deal with until I drove to the listing on Saturday afternoon.

The seller did end up paying for the dumpster and clean-up but it was me who had to deal with making those arrangements!  My trusty unlicensed-assistant-husband was a HUGE help in the matter.  He went and did the overseeing when the work was done and made sure it was cleaned up properly!  Seller did end up having to pay fines for this mess as it was Wednesday of the following week before it could be cleaned up.

It was VERY hard to try to turn the calls into clients though :)

I've got to admit, that deal takes the cake. I can't imagine a seller wanting to actually sell a place willing to leave it like that. Thank goodness for our trusty assistants!

Mary:  That is too funny!!  Was this your listing?  It is amazing that they thought it was okay to leave it like that.

Mary, my jaw dropped when I saw the photo and read your story!  UNbelievable!!!  I hope they paid you more than what you had to pay to have the stuff dealt with.
