Budds Corner is located between Route 9 and Route 9G in the town of Red Hook.  So named after the Budds family and there are still members of this family residing on this street.

On Budds Corner can be found a couple large farms.  I was once told that the corn crop need to be knee high by the the begining of July so when I go by in the summer I make a mental note.

This is also a great spot t to shoot some lovely sunsets.

One of my favorite spot on this road is going by a farm where a gnarly tree stands alone in the middle of the field.

 Budds Corner Gnarly Tree

Make a right off Budds Corner on to Pitcher Lane, Here you will find Grandiflora Nusery a popular place for plants a a favorite spots for many with second homes in the area. Next stop is the Greg Farm, a place where you can pick your own fruits; my favorite is Blueberries.

In a Barn on the Greig's Farm you will find Gigi Market,  here I find the only brownies I really love; everyone I have given them  to agrees.

Next door to Gigi's you will find Alison's Winery.

Enjoy this brief tour of the fall colors from Budds Corner to Pitcher lane.

Jennifer- your photo is as pretty as a postcard.  I just love that tree out in the middle of the field.  And I love pick your own or pick up fresh picked farms.  Locally Glades farm has corn here in the summers and it's SO good.

Jennifer, looks very similar to where I live, how wonderful. Great slide show of a beautiful area. There is a tree here across the street in a field that I love to look at. It changes, haunting at times, always standing out so tall. Thank you!

Jennifer that is a beautiful piece of flat land.  I bet a developer would love to get his/her hands on it and put up a subdivision :)

Jennifer, I remember hearing the saying about corn needing to be "knee high by the fourth of July".  Autumn is a great season - nice video.

Jennifer, So Lovely!! You are making me homesick for the Hudson Valley. Love the back country roads & the red barns Esp. in Autumn. We love Wilmington in the fall, but our foliage is not quite as intense!  Gigi's sounds like a wonderful place!  I'm very partial to my Mom's brownie recipe, it's the best! I won't eat store bought, always dissapointed. Let me know if you'd like a copy of it!

Andrea I think we have very similar landscape.  I do love the trees that are a bit different from the rest.

Diane Thank you, I think the saying goes:experience makes perfect........then again maybe I made that up....lol  I have a way of mangling any popular saying.

George a Developer would not be able to get his had on this beauty.  The town of Red Hook is serious about its open space and have purchased some of the development rights .

Gary - That can be said about farms; and somehow they attract us.

Brian I knew I did not make that up.......lol  Yes I love fall.

Ginger you will just have to visit.   I would love your moms recipe.  The brownies I mentioned are really awesome, freshly made by culinary professionals.

Gary it is truly a beautiful area.  I am happy to give you an idea of what you would see.
