9 Comments on Sacramento is Featured in The New York Times as a Travel Destination: 36 Hours in Sacramento
Elizabeth,
Having lived in Calif and having spent alot of time in Sac I can tell you that Sac is really fun place to be. The entire city supports all their sports teams ( KIngs and the River Rats) like you wouldn't believe. Funny you sould post today, my daughter who lives in Sac just got in last night for a visit.
Well Elizabeth - There are times when I feel like I've reached the end of the internet, when it comes to finding new things to do in Sacramento. It's about that time, I punch a destination into Magellan and take off on a day trip somewhere. But honestly, I've lived in Sacramento all my life, and we are fortunate to have a number of really nice attractions to keep us entertained and occupied. And if need be, we are less than 100 miles in either direction to San Francisco and Lake Tahoe. . .What's not to love!
Elzabeth - Great news for Sacramento - It's a pretty town with great people. Sorry to hear about your husband. I'm sure that honest reporters are having a tough time with the way news is usually spun.

Hi Gerry: I live in Land Park, so I'm within walking distance of downtown and Midtown or even the Sacramento Zoo. I have a hard time keeping up with all the new restaurants that are opening.
Hi Myrl: Aacck, you had to say it! I really hate it when people talk about how close we are to Tahoe and the City like that's the best thing about Sacramento -- that it's on your way to somewhere else. LOL. From the museums, gourmet restaurants, top-notch dance clubs, shopping, rivers, hiking, trees, coffee shops, boutiques, theater, movies, parks, attractions, public transportation, there's so much to do in Sacramento that you don't need to go to anywhere else.
Hi Elizabeth: I can't speak for my husband, but I don't think he believes the news is spun. It's presented in a factual manner. Reporters generally do not write the headlines, though. That's the copy desk. But I haven't read anything in the Sacramento Bee that wasn't factual, fair and balanced.
Elizabeth: Your husband and I have something in common. I used to work for the Washington Business Journal. Hadn't even thought back to those days until reading about the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal that your husband worked for. Of course, I wasn't a writer but in ad sales. Boooriiiing. Hated that job.
I'm so sorry that Adam got laid off. The newspaper world is shrinking. So is the comic strip. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette gets smaller all the time. The funnies are so little I can't read the print and have a hard time finding them on the page. A good writer will always make it though!
Hi, Elizabeth:
Your special edition is just one more reason the New York Times is the best newspaper in America. I read it online and enjoy many of the blogs, too.
Cheers,
Robin
