Tomorrow Tuesday November 3rd is Election Day and I would like to remind all that as citizens in a Republic we have a right to exercise our right to voice an opinion in whom we want to best represent our interests.  In the United States, we are represented by our elected representatives.  As a nation we broke from Great Britain because we did not have that right.  "Taxation without representation is tyranny!"  The sad thing that most Americans do not think it is important, and part of the reason the country is in the shape it is in is our own fault.  There is a very big price to pay for being apathetic!

There is no election too big or too small where we should not get out and have our say!  So Vote, and make your voice heard!

Vote

Jim,

Thank you for the great reminder.

I believe giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.

It is time to take back the car keys one election at a time!!

Have a great day!!

Jim Crawford...we are lucky to live in a land where we can think out loud, take a stand, vote for who we want, go to what church we think best for our familes. And as they say in Chicago, vote early, vote often. Every vote does count..now more than ever. Apathy is a disease, a vote wasted that is not cast. Don't vote, don't complain.

Jim:  It is our right and our responsibility to vote but I really wish some voters would truly understand the issues and what each politician stands for and not just vote because they think he's good looking or such as that.

Jim,

Thanks for opening the topic on voter responsibility.  I agree with Donna that some voters are uninformed.  However, low voter turnout is always a disappointment to me.   Today when I voted in my town of Southern Shores on the Outer Banks, out of over 1000 registered voters, I was number 154 at noon!!  That is just sad.  Every election is important but I feel local elections impact the individual more strongly than statewide or national elections do in many ways.  So thanks for rallying the troops.

Morgan Mason (Sun Realty)  That is very sad.  The ones that don't vote will be the same ones that fill the town halls to complain when it is too late.
