American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Nineteen nonprofit arts organizations in Texas, including two in San Antonio, are receiving grants to support the preservation of jobs that are threatened by declines in philanthropic and other support during the current economic downturn. The 19 Texas grants total $775,000.

As long as the N.E.A. stays out of it, I'll object so much less. YOu know anything about the National Endowment of the Arts, Shirley? Crazy stuff.

I'm glad the Southwest Arts and Crafts Center is getting some grant funds. That is a terrific organization that has helped some great artists become known.
