Writing - An Inspiration! The past few days I’ve seen a dozen or so articles written about the $8,000 tax credit and a few have been featured here on Active Rain. Recently, I’ve read blogs about Real Estate Teams, both very great articles with their own views and it actually inspired me to write about this very subject here, “An Inspiration”.

My inspiration came within the comment section. One of the authors commented that it would have been appreciated if the writer wrote an inspiring comment within the author’s blog. I have seen within the comment sections of various blogs great comments, which could have been easily its own blog post. Commenter’s are often very passionately about a subject whether they agree or disagree and neglect writing their own blog post. Why not share this very same topic with your own readers?

I would love to see bloggers write their own blog post when they have a different point of view or expanding on this very same topic. Primarily, we are real estate agent graving for discussions and topics on real estate. This is how we learn and share our knowledge with our readers who are from all different parts of the country and world.

I ask myself this question before I start writing a post: Who do I want to reach out to?

Would you consider writing about the same topic if you were inspired?

I hope you found this post useful! If you need help finding or selling your Lakeland, Florida home, please contact Petra Norris - REALTOR at 863-619-6918. Positively, the tax incentive is inspiring me because I know it will bring more business, especially with rates climbing.  I try to write about what my clients will read, about my community, tax incentives, loan programs, home staging, going green, etc.  And of course, always try to be positive.  Thanks for your post and insight.

Petra, Of course. If not we wouldn't have anything to write about. Real estate is a finite topic.

Petra,

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on the Feature!  I've made it a point to write a post if my comment is longer than a short paragraph.  If I'm passionate, I want to be informed, so I do my research and write a post.

Hi Petra...

I agree. When the comment becomes a blog post inside a blog it's probably better for the commenter to write their own blog with a link back. Everyone benefits from it whether they agree or not :)

P.S. Glad to see you put a video up on your sidebar :)

Hi Petra. Of course I would. Real estate has many tangents as well as many opinions. FWIW I like tangents and will follow other posts that were inspired by someone. However the drama that sometimes ensues... I can do without :-) Great post. ~ Lana

I get most of my inspiration and thoughts from reading blogs here.  If I wasn't permitted to share ideas, I'd probably not have much to write about (I'm not the most creative person! LOL!)

Great idea. Some of the comments are equally as informative or thought provoking as the original blog post.

Petra:  Of course I would write about anything that inspired me.  I read that same comment. After the string of other comments that followed, if it were me, I would have deleted it. It simply does not shine well and I would not want to refer business to anyone who publicly throws a tantrum in or out of the sand box. This is all a greater learning experience ... hopefully most of us will get the lesson.

I know sometimes I get long winded in my comments, and about 1/2 way through and think, "darn should have made this a post, and got 250 points instead of 25."

LOL

I seen the post and comment you are referring to. I don't see anything wrong with a comment turning into it's own post. This happens often here in the rain.

You know, I've done this. I always link back to the original post...I've never had anyone complain.  If it was a matter of "traffic" I really don't think my blogs ever diverted traffic and the links that I created back to the original blogs can help that blogger.  Although I would be more helpful in that regard - if I was a more major player.  If anything I think that this synergizes the commenting process.  By seeing the link, it may have drawn more comments back to the original blog...

It's late - I'm not making sense...

Joyce and Terry - I'm glad I could add to this and be inspired

BB - finite topic, yes - but there is always Blogging Bertha :)

Mike - Thank you, I was ecstatic about the "Gold Star" and I wanted to respond sooner but "proxy error messages" kept me out last night. Grrrrr - Researching on a specific topic adds to the quality of the blog post. Thanks for stopping by.

TLW - That's right! I'm glad you like my video.

Lana - Drama always leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Tori - you and me both, but we keep on plugging away :)

Cheryl - that is so true, we all can learn from the comments as well as feel what type of person the commenter really is.

Kathleen - I'm a firm believer of "If you have nothing nice to say, it's best to say nothing at all" I would not have deleted the comment because you are entitled to your own opinion, however, it might bite you in the end.

Roland - totally agree, we read, we're inspired, we write - this is what blogging is all about.

Ruthmarie - In this case it did, as I read from some of the commenters. This is all about expanding on one particular topic.

Missy - 250 is better than 25 - LOL. Even without the point system in place, wouldn't you want to get your message to your readers?

Petra:

People do sometimes get carried away with their comments. I find it fascinating that they would spend the kind of time it takes to create an essay out of a comment. It is all a learning experience, however there comes a time when a comment can take on a life of its own and should turn into a separate post.

You have a valid point.  I think that is a great idea....I am not in favor of the three different featured copy cat haunted house blogs last week.  That was a little over the top.
