My owner is a Realtor with Century 21 Award in San Diego. Are you missing a great opportunity to reach out to past Clients?

Even though any time is a great time to contact past Clients, there are some times that are just naturally better than others, and now is one of those times.

I take advantage of the end of daylight savings time to send a little postcard to my past Clients reminding them to check their smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms, change the batteries, and add them to their bedrooms if they don't have them there.

I'll also reference my ActiveRain blog, too, of course.

Feel free to modify and adapt for your use, but certainly don't miss out on this great opportunity to reach out to your past Clients with a valuable safety tip.

If you haven't reminded them about the ending on November 30 of the Federal Tax Credit for home improvements, now is a good time to do that, too!

Great idea Jim.  We tend to contact our databaseat least 2 times per month.  We maintain a database composed of friends, family, former clients and business professionals we do business with.

I just sent out 300 Fall back daylight savings cards last week.

They were a big hit.

We send them out starting a month ago and then when we invite them to the Halloween party we have plenty to give away. The ones that don't come or that for some reason we missed I phone and will actually take a battery to them and say that is how important you are to our business.

Jim,

This is helpful, and any reasonable opportunity to contact your data base makes good sense.

I honestly never thought of that.  Thanks for the tip.

I haven't been my old self lately.  My Dad passed away a month ago and just haven't been able to get back in gear yet.  Big hole in my life where my hero used to be.  I'll get it together soon though and be back on the rain like I was.

Hey, Syreeta - I contact those in my database once a month, although friends and family might have to put up with me more often.

Hey, Greg - I always receive lots of reminders to set the clock back, but who really needs reminders to do that? It's on the news, on the radio, on the Internet, in the newspaper.

Hey, Ralph - Is that all you had, though, a reminder to fall back? I bet they would be an even bigger hit if you included your ActiveRain URL, other helpful information (like replacing batteries), etc.

Hey, Charles - I like your idea of actually taking a battery to them.

Hey, Chris - Thanks for your kind words, and for stopping by.

Hey, Brian - Sometimes even the unreasonable opportunities are good, too!

Hey, Jack - So sorry to hear about your dad. Hang in there. We're all with you.

Hey, Carra - Or even having the furnace system checked out by a heating and cooling professional before it's actually needed to make sure that it will work when it is actually needed.

Hey, Douglas - Helpful tips are helpful tips!

Hey, Irene - I used to think that Russel covered her up with blankets until I actually saw her crawl under one and then poke her head out just like in the picture.

Hey, Betina - You're welcome, and thanks for stopping by.

Hey, Jim - Feel free to steal my postcard. Just don't tell Josh that daddy has been stealing. LOL

Hey, Olga - There are so many natural times to reconnect, but I'm surprised a lot of people don't think about them like that.

Hey, Robert - Russel told me to ask you if you're giving away points yet.

JIM: Great post and an informative postcard. In the past I used to mail out "turn the clock back" reminders but adding the batteries is a great suggestion. Will do that next time. It is always great connecting to past clients with helpful suggestions throughout the year.
