Mike in Tucson, circa 1980

My Darlin' says I have a lot of nerve posting this photo.

It's me.  Thirty years ago in upstate New York...

  1. Do you still have a business card photo from that ancient date?
  2. Are you brave enough to endure the LMAO's?
  3. Would ANYONE you know in the Rain be able to put your "today" photo together with your 1980 photo?

Oh, I know there are those out there who haven't changed the glamour photo on your business card in the last decade.  Some of you are right here in Tucson, working for...  Well, never mind.  I'd only get in trouble.

Anyhow, those of you who were in diapers in 1980 needn't comment.  Let's hear from those who were born before 1960.

Don't be shy.  And please do upload a photo.  Tell us where you were when it was taken.  LOL!

I did have a business card in 1980 but it didn't have my picture on it and it wasn't for real estate.  And, I was born after 1960, so I won't be posting a picture.  I'll watch to see who does though!!

You asked for it.  Here's my business card photo from the 80's.  I actually put it into a little collage with my 70's, 80's, 90's and 2000+ business card photos to create a postcard touting my experience.   Can't say anyone ever cited that as the reason they called me, however.

I did love those curls when perms were "in".

I looked all over my albums.  I found a 1979 one.  I found a 1985 one.  ...But still no 1980 one.  Then it occurred to me:  wait a minute!  I was modeling in 1980.  Duh!  I have plenty of those pictures from my portfolio.  Here it is freshly scanned just for you:

Hey Bo Kaciuba.  If you're ever in the DC/MD/VA area, come on out and I'll take you to a local range and we can shoot some skeet or trap birds, or both.

Hey Mike! Here you go...In 1980 I was a 19 year old college sophomore at Hamline University with "farrah-hair". Wasn't thinking real estate but majoring in Business Adm/marketing and Psychology. (Boy did I use a lot of hairspray back then!) That cute guy next to me is now my husband.

Mike - here it is a photo from my first driver license in 1981. In Germany you had to be 18 in order to drive a car and that picture was taken around my 18th birthday. Oh boy, I can read my signature.

OK, here it goes:

I've been looking over these pictures and I have noticed that some of you ladies look as if time stood still.  Some of you even look better and younger now than you did 30 years ago.   Here is my question:  you know who you are, so fess up!  Whatever you're doing to stay so young, I want to know about it!  It doesn't have to be here, it can be a discreet e-mail, a phone call or a text.  I just want to know how you do it.

I'll be waiting!

Mike my little brother was born in 1970 and this was his 10th birthday.  Boy were my mom's curtains ugly!  Don't tell her I said that.

I'm that little skinny girl with braces and big hair holding the baby who was just a bit more than a month shy of his first birthday. Me, I was just a few weeks shy of turning 15 and getting that drivers permit and being able to "double date".  WOW.  The other kids are neighbors and that's my Grandmother.  Gosh she was so young and still so beautiful at 61.  I was a freshman in high school and working as a soda jerk at a local drug store after school.

Life was so wonderful.  I had a ton of fun reading all the comments and seeing all the photos.  You always post such beautiful photo that I enjoy so much, but this was really fun to go and find a photo from 1980 and one that has wonderful happy memories.  That little baby I'm holding had his 10th birthday the same day as my daughter's first easter in 1989.

Looks like you hit on something very popular.  Kathie did a series of ads asking "Which Kathie Did You Buy From?"  She had six or eight pics over 25 year period.  It worked really well with past clients.  Everybody likes a little nostalgia.

OK, It took me a while, as I don't like getting my picture taken, (see how happy I look in this one?).  This, circa 1980 photo of me relaxing on our newly purchased sofa was clearly NOT on a business card, though at 25 yrs old, I was "employed".  It's been fun seeing who the brave souls are! =o)

I love all the photos and what fun it was looking for them. With all we have written and all the exposure we have already given ourselves already we might just as well post out baby pictures while we are at it. I added my 80's pictures above. Here is me as a young boy which I wish had been in the 80's , lol.

Here we standing in front of the Fort at Ft Ticonderoga!  Appropriate since my Big 80's hair 80's looks like it's ready for a fight. LOL!
