Drum Point Community,Lusby Md is located in Southern Maryland making up 622 lots. Prior to World War 11, Drum Point was a very rural community where residents made their living off of the land and water. An economic boom hit and the joys of leisure time and water recreation became more popular drawing in more visitors. As times changed and Southern Maryland grew, so did the Drum Point community, becoming a destination and week-end resort. Drum Point as well as other communities in Southern Maryland expanded way beyond their founder's original dreams and became a year round full time place to live.  To view Drum Point News and see what's happening go to: "Newsletter".  Drum Point Beach is located on the Chesapeake Bay, across from Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Drum Point also has a tidal salt water lake, perfect for crabbing & fishing.  

Drum Point Clubis a separate organization from DPPOA. The Drum Point Club us a social organization by a group of Drum Point Property owners whose dedication was to conserve and preserve the community's natural beauty and assets for its residents and for future generations and to enjoy peaceful recreational pursuits. Recreational pursuits include fishing & special events. The Club Housemay be rented for private parties, weddings, etc. Each year, the Club and DPPOA will jointly sponsor a "Drum Point Day" social for all residents. Any resident who is a property owner in Drum Point may join the Club for modest fees and a one-time cost of $250.00 and a $25.00 transfer fee for (1) voting right plus annual dues thereafter (currently $150.00). Drum Point Lighthouse dominates the Solomon's Island Maryland museum's waterfront. This screwpile, cottage-type light is only one of three remaining from forty-five that once served the Chesapeake Bay at the beginning of the twentieth century. Decommissioned in 1962 from Drum Point, the lighthouse fell victim to vandals until moved to its present site in 1975. Beautifully restored, complete with furnishings of the early twentieth century, it has become the waterfront's main attraction and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
