I love this idea that Mike came up with and decided to repost his blog so that many more readers can take advantage of this very fun idea Mike had.

I really enjoyed going through Mike's coments and I recognised a few members and the photos or business card photos is such a cleaver idea. I can't speak for others but I  buried mine in the back yard hoping that insects would eat them but alas they didn't. I dug mine up so I am guessing more of you will do that as well.

Via Mike Jones (SUNSTREET MORTGAGE, LLC):

Mike in Tucson, circa 1980

My Darlin' says I have a lot of nerve posting this photo.

It's me.  Thirty years ago in upstate New York...

  1. Do you still have a business card photo from that ancient date?
  2. Are you brave enough to endure the LMAO's?
  3. Would ANYONE you know in the Rain be able to put your "today" photo together with your 1980 photo?

Oh, I know there are those out there who haven't changed the glamour photo on your business card in the last decade.  Some of you are right here in Tucson, working for...  Well, never mind.  I'd only get in trouble.

Anyhow, those of you who were in diapers in 1980 needn't comment.  Let's hear from those who were born before 1960.

Don't be shy.  And please do upload a photo.  Tell us where you were when it was taken.  LOL!

I am new at this re-blogging thing so I should start this off as well as repost my comment to Mike:

Hi Mike , this was a very cool idea. My scanner is a bit weak it seems as the resolution is awful but who cares. Here is me circa earlier 1980's. Beard and all. Isn't it amazing what the digital camera has done for all of us. At the same time , getting older doesn't look any better with better resolution, LOL. The 2nd  photo is my very first Real Estate Photo in Oct. 1989, sans the beard and a trimmer hair cut. These photographers had me looking at something out in left field, lol.

You buried yours in the backyard; that's funny.I would be afraid to put mine out there.

Too funny Tom. Mine didn't even kill the grass,( yet anyways)  lol. But I also know why you would be afraid to do that. Lars might find them and not recognize you, LOL. Or he might just have a good laugh when he sees what his Dad used to look like. No worries, Tom , I don't think Lars would ever try and bribe you or anything, lol.  He is way too cool!

Wiliam - Thanks fo much for reblogging Mike's post otherwise I would have never seen this.  What a great idea,  I just came from his post after leaving a couple of photos from my younger days.  Yours might have been buried in the back yard....mine were stuck in the cobwebs. :)

Hi Donna, Repost your photos here Donna. So everyone will keep this idea of Mike's up. I am delighted he did this. I hadn't taken stock of how much I have transformed. For about 10 seconds I even toyed with the idea of regrowing my beard. When reality set in thankfully, it does go with out saying that aging is no fun.

Woo Hoo! That is a great photo. Beauty is beauty no matter how it is packaged. Now, I wish I could convince myself that is true for me a well. Though Ican't say I was ever that. But I really don't like the aging process and the changes I see but the alternative is totally unacceptable.

Hi Don, No worries. I think we are facing the same shock in ourselves. Oh of us at one didn't think we were cute and cleaver and more than that, invincible. And the life spoke to us and reminded us we are becoming our parents. If it were not so much fun it would be depressing, LOL.

My brother and husband have scanning abilities.......not sure I will submit anything, but I must say the older photos are more flattering so why not?

How funny!   My graphic to submit this is "elderberry"  Who knew?

Hi Julie, Faces change as we all go through it. It is so entertaining to see what we all looked like back. I recall seeing our high school reunion photo and wow, these people look so different, most were unrecognizable. I guess because we live with ourselves we grow used to gradually changing look as the years pass. Go for it, the corn row picture that is, :-)

Hi William.

Okay, let me get this straight, are we supposed to post the photos that were used on old biz cards, or just old photos?

Btw, you are/were always handsome my friend. As for Mike, his wife is right, he's does have guts, but I've got some doozies myself, hair that was so big it looks like I used a fork lift to get it that high.

Hi Lynda, I can't speak for the others but photo business cards in my world were unheard in the early, middle or late 80's. They were not popularized until the mid 90's for real estate. So........My idea is to post a photo from the 80's  or whenever you want to . They are all so fun that it simply doesn't matter. It is not a contest and the rules are the title is a bit vague anyway. 1980 Business card Business Card Photo Challenge. As I mentioned I don't think anyone had photo business cards  then, Have at it. That big hair pictures should be so cool!

I totally missed the first one but, you know, I haven't scanned a photo from years ago but, should give this one a whirl this week.  We'll see--I'm headed for RDU's REBar Camp this week and am sqeezing everything in these first three days of the week so, I may not have time to play!

Have a wonderful Wednesday...

Hi Debe, I think that would be great if you did post your photo. I am sure you will have a good smile with it. We tend to forget how looked that many years ago. Made me laugh out load looking at mine. But I would be willing trade places for then as now. My little chubby cheeks seemed to have moved under my chin now, LOL.

You did OK, most with smooth heads don't wear it as well as you. I will say that from what I can tell, I would rather have none than some. Looks very good on some and think of the money saved not having to pay for haircuts and shampoo.LMAO

I keep my photo semi-current...every two years.  I'll be taking new photos before year end.  My friend, what's up with the lense?  Don't hide a handsome face behind a lense...remember the classic film stars.  Your face has to be out there.

Of course, you have permission to ask me how I feel about that when my photos have to be Photshopped in a major way.

Hi Cynthia,

I sure can. About as happy as I am. Some people just don't photograph well and I am one of them. Guessing you feel that way too. Besides, If anyone asked what I look like  I tell people , to look around at as many people as they can. I don't look a thing like any of them. So that it comes down to this. I look different than everyone else. Of course that would be true for any one of us, wouldn't it, LOL.
