Steve "Wolf" Crescenze hosts four weekly Blues Jams in the Maryland, Virginia and DC area. A Blues Jam is an event where the host band plays an opening set to warm up the crowd and also provides the equipment necessary so visiting musicans can showcase their talent along with other Blues musicians.
Steve "Wolf" Crescenze's Blues Jams include Wednesday night Blues Jams at Beach Cove Restaurant in North Beach ,Md. Also, every Thursday is a Zoo Bar Blues Jam on Conn. Avenue in Washington, D.C. The first Friday and third Saturday Blues Jam is at the Fat Boy's Country Store in Leonardtown, Md . Every Sunday, a Blues Jam is offered at Bangkok Blues , a Thai Restaurant in Falls Church. Come enjoy an evening of great Blues with other fellow Blues Lovers and Musicians. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, a Blues Jam is "like a Box of Chocolates. You never quite know what you are going to get." Over the years, big name acts ,while in the area for a performance, have dropped by to Jam. Some of these acts include Pine Top Perkins, Guitar Shorty, and Tab Benoit.
Besides hosting Blues Jams, Steve "Wolf" Crescenze also plays base in three different area Blues Bands. The Bands are Lisa Lim and over the Limit, Hot Rods and Old Gas, and the Big Boy Little Band which was recently named the Best Blues Band of 2009 by the Washington D.C. Blues Socitey. They will be representing the Washington D.C. Blues Society in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee on January 20-23 2010. The competition will include over 100 bands from around the world.
