How to get 54 calls in one day! (At no cost to you)

I know it seems crazy in this market getting 54 calls in one day, but today I got exactly that! The only problem is that I didn't do any marketing or even write a great blog to warrant that many calls. But, there they were, my phone was lighting up all day long.

What happened? It seems someone decided to go to a home insurance quote site and put my name and phone number in and ever insurance agent in the state got a copy of that list and was calling me all day long trying to earn my business.

Now, I did enjoy one call because they recognized me from Activerain and was surprised I was asking for a quote in such a way since I probably knew hundreds of agents. (And he was correct, I do) So, who ever pulled the practical joke, real funny, but guess what? I'm going to use it as a networking opportunity and help these people learn how to blog and use social media, so you joke is going to make me money.

So guess what, the joke is on you!

Congratulations!!! Wow 54 calls in one day...that's amazing. I am glad that you are able to use this to your advantage. So tell me how as a Real Estate/Home Stager I could drum up even 10 good calls in one day? Love to hear your advise since you sound like you know how to turn whatever happens into a positive!!! Todd - That is interesting. I actually received a phone call from an insurance agent today trying to get my business.

Wow! 54 unknowing opportunities.

I hope that you ask for their business and referrals! Most insurance agents live in the state they're working in. I've both sold homes to and financed wrong numbers! I even sold two books to a wrong number.

I don't like pranks, but I'll take every opportunity to talk I can get!

I have had something similar pulled on my from someone in the office. I received a ton of mortgage quotes, but this was a few years back.

Oh this is good. My wife and my mother like to periodically "put the other's name in" for random purchasess and sales pitches. In fact, I am going away today for two days ... I think I might have to help keep an eye out for her.

Love it. I had a disgruntled employee do something similar a couple of decades ago. I enjoyed making lemonade.
