I was going to guess coal with light reflecting off it. The Cascades are beautiful. I was able to canoe and pack pack around Ross Lake as a young man. One of the most challenging trips I ever took. It was the middle of July and some of the passes were still snowed in. I remember having to take an alternate route and still having to make a path through some snow.

Rita, it would probably be pretty hard to guess what it was

Gene, Ross lake is high enough that there would likely be snow there that late in the year---really beautiful

Seattle does get some amazing sunrises. We get fog. Cold, miserable fog.

Did you inspect that glass after it was installed it looks a little cracked ;)

Marcy, fog can be pretty "cool" too:)

Heather, it was here when we bought the house----would not have been my choice. In fact it probably had some pretty nice side-lites originally---but was replaced with this big sheet of textured glass some time in the 60's.
