A How to Video: Organize your past ActiveRain posts for Inter-Linking and improve your Google Juice

I have been writing posts for less than a year and I've accumulated over 125 posts. Recently I've been wanting to link to some of my previous posts within the current post I am writing. I didn't have an easy way to quickly find the hyperlink or the exact topic I wanted. As I blogged more and more about communities and subdivisions finding the past posts got more difficult, confusing, and time consuming.

I love a challenge. I began a mission to simplify finding, sorting and easily copying the hyperlink to previous posts. I failed at many of my attemps, but I finally found one that worked.

So here is the How To video  to help you create your own list and save you all the trial and error I went through.

A quick reference to the steps in the video: Organize your past ActiveRain posts for Linking and improve your Google Juice

• My Home
• Statistics
• Right Click over page
• Right Click - Copy
• Open Excel - Right Click - paste into a separate spreadsheet tab
• Repeat for each page of statistics
• Click+hold+drag to hightlight and then copy only the area with your date and post name
• Paste into a tabe of your List of Posts
  
• Repeat for each page of statistics
• Select the two columns - Right Click - Alignment Tab - Check Text Wrap
  
• Create Categories
• Sort as needed

Examples:

• Inter-link this month's market report with previos posts on market reports
• Inter-link a post about a subdivision with posts about schools, taxes, things to do, market reports
• Inter-link a post on a listing with posts about the subdivision, schools, taxes, market reports, etc.
  

The more you inter-link the more Google can find you and the more Google Juice you create!
