Buyer Preference!

By
Real Estate Agent with Regal Homes and Properties

Why would Buyers prefer to drive fancy vehicles, rather than purchase a nice home for their families.  When my husband and I were starting our family, our home was top priority.  We sacrificed everything, to purchase a nice home, in a nice neighborhood, to raise our children.  Today, young families are content living in a not-so-nice rental, as long as they have "cool" cars to drive.  It WAS the American dream to own a home, but that dream seems to have died!

To some, Image is Everything--rather they can afford it or not..remember, most Americans are still living BEYOND their means!  It's the American way....?

Tami -

You said it.  I always dread seeing a buyer drive up in an expensive car.  I know it usually means they have excessive debt rather than disposible income. : (

I've had them blow a deal when they purchased a car while they were in escrow and the lender could not qualify them because of the car.
