My favorite time of year ... when all these azaleas are in full bloom!  My backyard neighbor installed a border between our yards with lagustrum and bradford pear trees down the middle, indian hawthorne bushes on his side, and these gorgeous azaleas on our side.  Thank you, Mr. Frank.  We return the favor by taking care of the azaleas, especially watering when they start to droop in the hot summer months.  I get worried as soon as I see a little droop ... these plants are just too beautiful to think of losing them.  Hope you all enjoy the slide show.

Neat looking flowers and the slide show works well.  What application did you use to create it?

Myrl, I got the idea to use Picasa from a blog written by Bob and Leilani Souza.  Here's the link to their tutorial: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1315036/how-to-embed-a-picasa-photo-slideshow-into-your-activerain-blog.  This was my first slide show.  This afternoon I used Picasa to make a collage of all the azalea photos and printed it for our scrapbook.  It's been a busy day, learning lots of new tech stuff, which is usually a slow process for me, but fun.

I love them, but have never had luck with them except when I lived in NJ.  However, there is a place called River Oaks here in HOuston that iks know for azaleas.  Oh well!

Cindy, we struggle to keep these looking nice.  When we lived in Knoxville, it seemed much easier.  Now we can buy "Encore" azaleas that bloom twice a year!  That's my kind of flower.

I love azaleas.  They are easy to take care of and beautiful.

Theodora, I love them, too.  We see so many different colors in the azaleas here, from plain white or white with pink centers to pink, purple, and really dark red.  In the spring the gardens all over town are beautiful.

I just have to tell you, the street I live off of is named Azalea.  :)  I love Azalea's, especially when they are in full bloom!

Sallie,

One of the things I miss most from my native South Carolina is the splash of azaleas across the landscape.

Mike, I know what you mean.  The azaleas and rhodendrons and mountain laurels are all over the place in the Carolinas and Tennessee, where we used to live.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend.

I used to do the Houston Azalea Trail each year from 1974-1993. Some of the most beautiful flowering bushes.

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!
