This fellow is storing up for the winter months.  We gave up trying to keep them out of the bird feeders a while back.

He looks at home in that little wooden house. It seems like he let you get pretty close too. Here in OC we have mostly rabbits, the squirrels hang out by the beach.

Same thing happens here in MD.  We have a bird feeder hanging free from a branch on a tree in our backyard.  We THOUGHT that only birds would be able to access this feeder.  Nope.  Squirrels took it over.  So we recognized their squatters rights and left them alone.

Tim and Pam this is just too cute.  I know in my area I have seen people try all sort of stuff to keep the squirrels away from the bird feeders.

Tim and Pam,

We have fox squirrels on our golf courses and they are real pests.  They steal food from the golf carts and some of them will steal a WHOLE apple and run with it.  The funny thing is, they don't have to store up for winter. There is no winter in Florida.  Go figure. LOL

It looks like he is saying, "What do I do now, there are no more sunflower seeds?".

Thanks for the picture, Pam and Tim.

Tim and Pam - I have a bird feeder on my patio. I so enjoy watching the playfulness of squirrels. The squarrels will jump on the bird feeder causing it to rock and displace seeds on the ground where they feed with the canaries and doves.  Thank you for sharing the photo - simply precious.

You just need some squirrel feeders to take them away from the bird feeders! Sure is a pretty squirrel.

Tim and Pam - That is just about as delightful of a picture as I've seen in awhile!  That squirrel looks totally at home in his little house!

Tim and Pam,

Around here squirrels own the bird feeders too. What drops on the ground though the birds get...and its a lot.

Tim and Pam,

With his own little cabin and everything. Wow. Is there a fire in the fireplace, too? :)
