Wordless Wednesday by Julie Chapman  - August on the Ocoee River

Photo of what I recall as the upper portion of the Ocoee River - rafted upper and lower in same day - (can't recall what year either because this trip is usually part of my birthday week gift to my husband and myself).

Oh wow! I have to say, this is not what I was expecting when I scrolled down. This is an incredible shot! You'll never find a river like this in Florida. But I wish we could. It's so darned flat here O.o  lol

Hi Julie

Great Picture. It looks likes that was a very exciting trip down the river.

Julie this does look like so much fun. Beautiful photo, I especially like the rocks as the backdrop for the water.

Lisa,

About a 5 hour drive for us I think - we spend 3 days a year white water rafting 3 rivers in that area.  (My birthday present.....and think other women want diamonds.)

Tom,

It is very exciting......There is a portion of this river where I believe there are 4 or 5 class V rapids back to back.....it is a strenuous day but wonderful......we do the upper portion in the morning and the lower in the afternoon

Jennifer,

The rocks are part of what creates those rapids and they look much better from in the raft than under the boat after you have been knocked out of the raft......lol
