70th ANNIVERSARY OF THE SECOND WORLD WAR

Remembrance Day is a time for all of us to remember those who fought for Canada.

The Scarborough Civic Centre will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony

on November 8, starting at 2 p.m.

Cost:  Free

There will be other ceremonies taking place across Toronto, at different locations;
and they are all usually held on the Sunday before Remembrance Day.

Check with your local community centres, or for information about locations/ceremonies, dial 311.

Honour them.

Celebrate them.

Remember!

You win.  I have to study.

I need to see where the remembrance service is in St. John's.

Sylvie,  this is very nice of you to share this so everyone will be reminded of the great contribution and sacrifice that Canada made to help win World War II.  Thanks!

Greg, there's a ceremony at Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and there's another one at Grand Falls Memorial Grounds... and there are others... I just don't know how far they are for you.  You can look here.

Kathy, Fred, thank you.

Terry, I guess so ... and I'm sure for some, it feels just like yesterday.

Sharon, thank you.

Sylvie,

I never would have thought that it would have been held on the 8th. Thanks for the info.

Hi Brian ... I think they're making it easier for working people to attend, by holding it on the weekend.
