Fall Colours, Oakville, Ontario, Jenny Kotulak, photo,

Taking a walk through the ravines and trails in Oakville, Ontario this fall, you will notice a collage of colours.  Living in Oakville affords you the opportunity to explore the many mature forested areas and creek banks.  No matter what neighbourhood you live in in Oakville, there is always a park, greenspace, bike paths or ravines nearby.  Sitting on Oakville's Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee, I have  the opportunity to hear about the Town's future plans for new and existing parks.  Now's the time to get out and enjoy the last of the fall colours.

You are lucky.  Our colors are all but gone.  Of course the early snows we has didn't help.

Hi Tim, I guess if you get the urge you could always get in the car and head north?  Unfortunately we get the winds and then the leaves are gone.  Then the raking starts.  So look at the work you are missing too.

Hi Guy, and they say Canada gets all the snow lol.  You sure got it early.

Hi Liz, last week all I saw were yellow leaves.  Today I was happy to see the orange ones before they were gone.  It's hard to see them in the small photos but they were stunning.

Nice photo montage, Jenny! And it's admirable that you serve on the Parks & Rec committee -- a good example of agents getting involved in their communities.

Jenny, Beautiful colors of Fall!  We go from green to gone in about one day here on the Crystal Coast, but I sure to enjoy that day.  You live in a gorgeous area.

Spring, summer, fall...

            Make winter worth it all.

(You can quote me on that.)

Jenny -

You are a photog for all seasons.

Hi Jenny - A very beautiful collage to remind us of the colourful fall that is nearing completion.

What software did you use to create the collage?

That's beautiful, Jenny.  Most of our trees are already naked .... some leaves are hanging on for dear life, while most of them cover all the front lawns and sidewalks....
(don't even want to think about what's going to be covering them soon).

Hi Jenny... the Orange foliage is definitely my favorite.  It seems the less common compared to the Reds and Yellows.

Thanks T. & D. - Always nice to see you stopping by.

Hi John - I just finished up 5 years on our real estate board of directors so needed something to keep me stimulated lol.  This is a great way to be in the know with what's happening in my town.

Hi Kathy, I wish I could see a bigger photo of your collage.  Is it in one of your blog posts?  I like how you've added houses to make it look like a real community collage.

Hi Amy - I love it "green to gone".  I don't think many people realize how lucky we are to have the colors.  I used to take them for granted also but the older you get the more you appreciate the seasons.

Hi Jim - You're  poet and you didn't know it lol.  Now if I could just be a realtor for all seasons :)

Hi Marc - I used Google Picasa.  I've always used it for uploading my photos but didn't realize it's capabilities til I asked Liz Moras one day what she used for a collage she did.

Jim - we are going to look forward to gone to white.  It was just hailing a bit so the white stuff is  coming.

Hi Debi - Luckily when developers plan new neighborhoods here they have to donate a certain percantage of land for parks and playgrounds.  Also the town is trying to recover our waterfront.  When anyone demolishes a lakefront home and rebuilds they have to donate frontage to the town for public use.

Hi Sylvie - there were so many leaves on the ground when I was out walking in the forest yesterday that I had a hard time finding the trail sometimes.  As long as I could hear the hum of the QEW I knew which way to go lol.

Hi Caron - I hadn't thought of that.  Thanks for the great idea.  I might just do that.

Hi Steve - I had seen so much yellow lately that I honestly thought I would hyperventilate when I saw all the orange yesterday lol.  I love the red but not much here, or else I was in the wrong forests.

Jenny - while I love all seasons fall is the most colourful of them ... now that all our leaves are pretty much gone we wake up in the morning to frost and have even had the occasional snow flurry.

What a beautiful collage you've put together, Jenny. Our leaves are really starting to fall off the trees now. Wish that Fall and colors would last a little longer.

What a lovely collage!  Our weather doesn't give us a long fall at all, so we don't see these ranges of colors too much.

Hi Kathy, I'm sure your view is beautiful every season.  Do you get many critters at this time of the year?

Lee and Carol - You have to catch them at the right time don't you, or it's too late.  My inlaws live in Northern Ontario and the leaves are stunning there but I never made it up to see them.  I get a little nervous driving up at this time of the year as they get a fair amount of snow.

Jim and Maria - I'm sure there will be a lot of Canadians heading down your way soon to catch a bit of warmth.

Jenny,

Very cool collage. Our trees don't seem to be that vibrant here this year.

Beautiful photos and collage, Jenny! Our heat wave just "broke" (yes, it went down to 64 somewhere around here last night), so we're really not seeing orange. I love the way you put the photos together, too -- the whole thing is really pretty. I think it would be gorgeous framed in your office...

Jenny what a fabulous collage of our Fall!  We were noticing up North last weekend (after raking them all) that just about all the leaves have fallen. :(   We know what is next, but hopefully you will do a collage of the first fresh blanket of white!

Jenny - Geese and ducks on the mill pond, squirrels and a variety of birds at the feeders, raccoons, rabbits in the yard but not much else lately, there is a continual change in what we see around here with every day bringing something different. The other day Barrie saw a Piliated Woodpecker (which we haven't seen in a while although we have heard him)

Hi Charles - Well if it could pay the bills maybe I should consider it lol.  It's just a hobby I took up when I started blogging.  Now I'm hooked.

Hi Richard - The leaves stay vibrant for such a short time.  Sad to see them falling.

Hi Shoshana - 64?  Well we hit a high of 44 today but it was actually lovely with the sun.  And I just might get it enlarged and framed.

Oh Wanda - You are such a sweet potato :)

Thanks Patricia - that's a lovely compliments considering all the great photos you took on your Paris trip.

Hi Mary - Is your fall back or do you still have snow on the ground?

Hi Heather - You are right about the textures.  It's hard to see in the little photos but some of the leaves were quite spectacular.  I remember ironing them between wax paper as a kid.

Hi Jim - Well I won't expect one of those from you lol. If I did it, it would be pretty white wouldn't it?  I'd have to have something for contrast.  Maybe a babbling brook?  Oops, I think I'm babbling too much.

Al & Peg - I never did get up north to see the leaves this fall.  I heard they are finished in Parry Sound also.  I hiked along a trail behind Chedoke Golf Club in Hamilton today and it was still quite nice.

Hi Kathy - I heard a woodpecker today when I was walking but couldn't find him.  I'd love to get a shot of one.  Enjoy your furry and feathered friends.

Hi Sharon - I know your fall is just as colorful in New Hampshire. I smelled a bonfire  today and it brought back some great memories from being a kid.  Our town bylaws do not permit bonfires but we have them when we visit my inlaws in Northern Ontario.  Sometimes we make a huge one on the frozen Lake at New Years.

Hi Jenny, Fall is back - there are small pockets of snow on the north facing slopes - and it was about 70 degrees today - 77 in Denver yesterday!! Very nice! But most of the colorful leaves are gone.

Hi Mary, we've had a bit of a heat wave here also, the past few days.  Gorgeous. Certainly doesn't put you in the holiday spirit.

Hi Steve, Thanks.  It was fun making it.
