Since when is it okay to resort to calling women "ugly" because you don't agree with them?  Have we not come farther than this?  Is a woman's worth still foremost determined by her attractiveness to men?  Do we not have more to offer?

Are we going to make fun of Rosa Parks for not looking like Halle Berry when she had the nerve and the courage to remain sitting on that bus and fired up an entire movement?  Are we going to discuss Harriet Tubman not looking like Cindy Crawford when she led countless numbers of slaves to freedom?  Are we going to forget the burden placed on Gloria Steinem for being the "pretty feminist" when it was determined feminists (women expecting to be treated as equal human beings) were just ugly and bitter because they couldn't get a man?

This misogyny is disgusting to me and, in my opinion, disrespectful to all women who have fought for a woman's right to be treated as an equal to a man.  Women and men participating in this, shame on you.

Chris, when one has nothing to offer to the conversation, they resort to name calling.  Unfortunately, it is usally the women who bear the brunt of their frustrations.  Its always about degrading womanhood, and its almost always men who do the degrading, although I'm familiar with a few women, who apparently have such a low perception of themselves, they too join in the "fun."  We all know that belittling another human being can be as powerful as taking a drug!  Or so I've heard.

Hi Ladies - It is just such elementary school behavior, and even then only the sad, bully type children participate.  My daughter and her friends don't behave this way, they are 11 and 12 years old.  How can grown ups not know better?

Chrus person,

I do not even have words to describe the immature level of people commenting on this site..it is a sad commentary for professionals everywhere.. my self included.....

Perhaps some women here are going through the change of life....seriously, there is at least one in that age range who has shown obsession for this site with a fervor i had never witnessed anywhere in my 60 years of life.. and she thinks it funny!    wow....is all I can say.......

Probably because those people have been bullies since they were kids.  They have no other way of communicating with people who don't agree with them.

Wow is putting it mildly Linda Mae.

I'm afraid that may be the case Terry, or else they were bullied in school and now take it out on everyone else.

What's up with the misogyny?  Narcissism, that's what.  It is an epidemic. ..."People with NPD act as if they are special beings who are exceptionally intelligent, accomplished, beautiful, or sexy (or all of the above), to whom lesser people (pretty much everyone else) must bow."

Further, "Psychologist Allan N. Schore, an associate clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA says NPD can be summed up as, "Contempt of other people and their emotions." Imagine that...

"People with NPD are convinced there is nothing wrong with them; it's everyone around them who is impossible or crazy. There's some truth to their perception because often the spouse and children of the narcissist have been driven mad by their cruelty, disparagement, rages, and vindictiveness."   Now that, I can imagine.

Michelle, I think we've gotten a pretty good glimpse from time to time as to how one can be driven mad by people with NPD, haven't we? :-)
