I want to explain it away.  I want to say it's just happenstance, but maybe not.  Maybe the market is changing and that's why my last three prospects have come from the web.  But maybe not.  I've reached that 18 month break off time when the old school said you should start to get leads from your web work.  Maybe 18 months truly is the magic time?

I'm more prone to think the people who are contacting me have been hanging around my web presence for a few months and this just happens to be the time that the contact has cured.  That combined with the little bit of upswing in our local market is bringing me business.

Business is a novel idea after a year of desert dwelling in real estate sales.  I've actually begun to wonder how I worked so many deals during the feeding frenzy.  Where did I find the time?  Oh, that's right, I wasn't managing a web site and blogging at the time.  That explains it all.

Bonnie - have you ever noticed that jobs expand to fill time? It's why when you want something done, you ask a busy person. They know how to organize.

I've done MANY sales from my websites...my best year for website generated business was 2004 when I had 5 sales as a direct result of my website...the last couple of years it's slowed down some...but so has business overall.  I did not count the ones I've had from referring agents in the number above.  I get many referrals from them too...from RT, AR and my websites.  GOTTA LOVE THE INTERNET!

Business has picked up and I do think people lurk about our blogs before making contact. As for the time problem I just wnet ahead and gave up some other forms of prospecting and keep with the internet stuff.

I know I've read somewhere that it's not unheard of for people to take 9 months to finally "make a move" after having spent that time researching.  Also, a lot of families tend to move during the summer months, before school starts back up again.

Bonnie i loved the term desert dwelling lol. Something tells me you and I are in this blogging thing for the long haul so we will be able to track it all better. But in the meantime, congratulations on the web leads!

Sharon,  I know I get more done when I have a lot to get done.  It's a pace I can't keep up forever, however.  When I was younger I managed to go days and sometimes weeks.  Now I crash after a couple days of frantic activity OR I let personal stuff (like cleaning the house) slide!

Mary, what did we do before the internet?  Life seemed much simpler, but more narrow.  Now I count as colleagues people all over the nation.  And the internet has given me a new appreciation for a level of professionalism that is the cream of the crop!

Leanne, I have heard the same thing about business from the internet so maybe with some refining I'll get even more in years to come.

Ah, Carole.  The desert is a lonely place so I'm thankful for my internet friends who keep encouraging me to keep on.
