As I sit back and read about the housing market both locally and nationally, the question that comes to mind is....How is your business doing?  I've spoken to some realtors who had some of their best years in markets that were "less than desireable" (like this one)  This question is for anyone associated with the real estate business, realtors, inspectors, title co., etc...Are you feeling the pinch, doing ok or skyrocketing?

The pinch is definitely felt...although business does come in splurts!  A few years ago I had an awesome year...but I really sluffed off when it came to education/follow-through with previous clients/etc-etc-etc.  Now with the market as slow as it is I'm feeling the repercussions  of the good times...I'm playing catch up with previous clients, and altho they are happy to hear from me, they aren't as enthusiastic as they use to be...it's going to take time to rebuild that trust.

I'm spending a lot of time now...building up my data base, redoing my soon-to-be clients lists, soon-to-be-previous sellers lists, FSBO, and Expired lists.  I'm working the FSBO and Expired as well.  I'm have my VA working on developing letters for a drip system for these 4 categories....I've got the FSBO one done, soon-to-be-buyer lists is next on the plate.  I'm getting information for all prospects who call in from a sign, from my website, from my advertising...if they are a prospect buyer they get added to my drip system, if they are thinking of selling themselves they get added to my FSBO list, (the expired and prospect sellers will be done the same with as I get the system in place.) .

I'm also doing more accountability ....I have 2 Realtors and myself who mastermind once a week on a conference call, I have an accountability partner here on AR, and I meet with others in a networking type situation once a month.

My business (mortgage loans) is doing alright. It could be better.

Business is slow, but I just spend my free time marketing. My sister in law is in the mortgage industry. She is to the point where she has begun looking for another career.

Mortgage business is flat compared to last year but expect to see some fefi surge in the late summer as ARM adjustment notices go out

Insurance Annuity and Life is picking back up. Slower economies help convince people they will die someday

Hi Scott.  Yes, the market is a little "special" right now.  At one point, I was feeling disappointed in myself because I was buying into the "slow market" thing but then I woke up and put my boxing gloves on.  You just have to adjust to the market and really work hard to make it happen.  I think we were all a little spoiled before.
