Move over SpamI just deleted about few garbage comments that had a bunch of links in them.  Is anyone else seeing this?  The post were old ones from a while back.  Of course they weren't registered... the AR fruit system go down earlier and let the junk comments infiltrate our safe haven?  I hope this is only a fluke.

Just want to catch it before it becomes a problem.

20 Comments on Comment Spam...On the increase??

I had some of that crap this morning.  I really got hit about a month ago.  I ended up turning off my "unregistered user" comments for a few days.

I guess they don't realize that there are no follow tags in the comments section.

I had some of the same crap as well.  I have noticed an increase in spam.  Those spam guys are persistent, aren't they?

I had a lot of it this morning, too -- still coming in!!

06/26/2007 05:24 AM by Sarah Cooper (Real Estate Shows)

I got two more so I'm disallowing my non-member comments for the morning.  They'll move on to someone else.

I didn't realize you could turn off non-member comments.  That in itself is useful information.  I had had a few spam comments in the past, but they were from members!

Incoming crap!!!!  Me too Bob.  By the way - late night or did you wake up early??

God Morning Everyone-

I'd been lucky, I hadn't had this problem unyil recently - but they're getting me now, too.

I may tum off the non-Member comments like Chris suggested above.

Ok!  Click on the Report as Spam button that way the guys in Washington can track the IP address and block it...

Yes I have had spam too- I did not know about the unregister users howevre...a useful tool. It is annoying and irritating when spam hits.... but the benefits certainly outweigh the nuisances.

I had a bunch this morning - guess they were busy overnight. FYI, my settings were previously set to not allow non-member comments, so that didn't stop it.

Thanks for commenting legitimately!!!  It seems to be a problem, I will send this over to the Rain Gods.

Hmm....I've never had any of this crap yet on my AR blog!  Hopefully I won't either.  It can be very annoying.

We had a pretty large spam attack.  We deleted over 1000 spam comments this morning.  Until we figure out a work around I've disabled showing comments tagged as spam (by users or by Akismet).

Sorry about this!

None yet but unregistered user click box may be a short term fix

06/26/2007 08:34 AM by Paul Moye, Broker, ABR, GRI, CSP, SRES (Keller Williams Realty Franklin )

We're getting hit by an automated spam attack this morning.  So far we've removed well over 1,000 of these comments that have been flagged by our system as spam.  We're deleting them efficiently as they come in, but because the attack is coming from dozens of different machines around the world we haven't been able to simply block it.

Thanks Rain Guys!!!  I knew you would be on top of it!
