12 dead over 30 wounded and one shooter dead and the other 2 in custody. Sounds like something in a war zone? Yes it does. But no it happened here on our soil in Texas. I don't know the particulars but anything so gruesome cannot have a good ending.

My younger brother has done 3 tours (why do they use the word tour?) and he's still in one piece. I had to call him right away (he's in Florida) and get his take on it. He chose to keep those thoughts to himself. He's a Mental Health Tech when he's there. We pray for him when he's gone and feel so much relief when he's back home. But what would have happened if he was "there". In a place where the soldiers should feel "safe". He's stationed at Patrick Air Force Base in Melbourne Florida.

What we can do now is pray for the families who lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. Check CNN for further updates.

We have soldiers in Iraq and Afganistan texting and calling their loved ones at Fort Hood desperate for info.  How very very sad.  My heart aches for all of them.

Robert, I just returned from showing properties and had not heard about this.  How horrible.  My prayers go out to all, involved or not.  This affects everyone to some degree.

It is America's chickens coming home to roost. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, we have only ourselves to blame for allowing it here.

It's a really sad event. My father fought in Vietnam for 2 tours in infantry. To this day, he won't talk about his time there.  I don't think we realize what our soldiers deal with on a daily basis when they are in war and we are not providing them with appropriate time, place and method to debrief from their experience.  It's so tragic that it spills over onto innocent people.  Pray for all soliders and their families.

The loss, the heartache, the terrible ordeal for families to deal with, in addition to the statement that it makes to the rest of the world about what goes on in United States.  We who want to straighten the rest of the world out and make it a "safe" place, need to look closer to home.  Please everyone pray for this.

I pray for these boys everyday and the fact that it looks like they were killed by one of their own makes it even worse. These boys understood when they signed up they could be giving their life for our freedom as well as others, but you are right, when they are on our home soul, they should feel safe and appreciated. (It looks like we let them down on both accounts)
