Odiorne Point a slice of NH Seacoast

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Verani Realty

My husband Jay and I are both beach lovers and we love to spend our free time exploring the coast of New Hampshire as well as points north along the majestic Maine coast.

One of our favorite local parks is Odiorne Point State Park in Rye NH.  Rye is a quick 35 minute ride from our home in Hampstead and Odiorne is a 330 acre park that is open daily year-round.

We've been lucky enough to able to visit Odiorne State park during all four of our New England seasons...including the winter months. Sometimes we simply bring a bagged lunch and sit by the ocean...other times we've brought in some wine...

What was even funnier was I was able to stand up and the water was only up to my chest. LOL

Hey You Two - nice pics of one of our little Seacoast gems over here!

We were practicing rescuing attempts and I realized I could stand up. All in a split instance did I notice that. LOL

It was hysterical...even in water up to your chest you can't get into a sea kayak easy without tipping. They are so long and narrow. I had to perform an assisted rescue and that is not my strong point. Poor guy was sinking in the mud flats.

Kayaks do seem like they are very tippy and not easy to manuever at all.  Of course, I have no experience with these at all - they look that way to me.  Once you're in, they look like they'd be alot of fun to move around the coves, etc.

They are lots of fun and yes very tippy. Mine goes very fast...just glides over the water. I love poking around in coves all I need is 6 inches of water under me and I'm good to go.

Monika...we went there for many years when my son and his friends were young. The kids loved picking through the rocky shore!
