Today's selection for "The Lazy Agent Series" was chosen because it left me wondering "How hard could it have been to move a few items before taking the picture?".  Don't get me wrong... I wouldn't expect any agent to start acting like wife and real estate agent, Carolyn, did in the movie "American Beauty" when she went on a cleaning spree of her listing just before her open house.  However, there are times when taking a minute or two to just move a few items out of the way can make a huge difference in how a property is presented to prospective buyers and whether the property is appealing enough to make a buyer want to take the next step... make an appointment to see it in person.

Joe - I would say that they can edit some of the items out of the photo but if they're too lazy to move items out of the way, they're probably too lazy to edit the photo!

Ginger - I don't know about them smoking something, but maybe there's something in the water?  I agree, there ought to be fines but it'll never happen!

Becky - I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought "what the heck is that?"

laurie - I would just like to know what anyone has against stuffed puppies that they keep getting left behind and treated so poorly (LOL).  I'm glad I made ya' laugh!

ALL - I wish I could say it's hard to come across selections for this series but, sadly, it's not.

LOL...I think they should use the mop in the corner and clean up the "thing" in the middle of the floor.  It would have taken that agent 3 minutes to move that stuff out of the way.  I give that agent a "10" on the scale of lazy agents.

Laura - three minutes is well worth it if the end result is a very nice photo.

Cait - exactly my point... it's hard to see just how nice a room it can be with all the "stuff" everywhere so why bother including it?

Kaye - even if I were to take a "practice shot" with a new camera, I wouldn't have uploaded something like this to the MLS for all to see.

Leanne- who said anything about stuffed?  Your lead- ins to these photos are a riot- by the time I read your very polite words to lazy agents, I'm thinking that this photo  won't be so bad... IT'S REALLY, REALLY BAD!  Those curtains must be designer- some kind of new style of tie back without the need for a tie back?  They probably used the stepladder to help them create the look.

laurie - "is it real or is it stuffed"... that's the burning question which I hope to answer in tomorrow's selection.  I do try to be polite in my lead-ins in part because I want the picture to speak for itself and the posts to reflect the fact that they are supposed to be educational, not just for fun... though it is hard to not crack up looking at 'em!!!  It started out of frustration over what I see in the MLS on an almost daily basis and has taken on a life of its own.  I doubt this series will ever end, but wait till you see my next series.  I think you'll like that one as well.  Stay tuned!

That is really bad....might as well have not taken one at all! It amazes me how many of these agents are sitting around scratching their heads and silently asking themselves, "Why aren't there any calls for showings?"  lol!

I am laughing so hard my eyes are watering and my stomach hurts.  I don't know what was funnier... the lead in to the photo, the photo itself, the ghost puppy, the tiebacks that dont tieback....  I don't know.

Jeez, I think I'd just not take that picture at all!  What on earth goes through someone's mind to think that including a picture like that in the MLS is okay to do?!?!?!?!  Good grief!

On the other hand, maybe this agent is using a bit of reverse psychology with this seller.  Maybe they tried to get this seller to clean this joint up and they either didn't or thought they did.  And this agent's picture being included in the MLS might be a way to get this seller to actually wake up and see what others are seeing since they didn't clean up like they should have........   

Either way ----   YKIES!!!

I rate the picture a 9. It would have been a 10 but, since the area rug looks correctly centered under the light I'll give them one point back.

This is just awful!  What a mess, definitely not going to make someone want to come show or see that home.  This series is great!  makes me laugh!

Bad but when compared to some of the other posts, not so bad.  I think this is what is called settling.  When you've been exposed to so much BAD photography eventually bad photography gets to be OK.

Sally - I'll bet you're right... that some of the agents that are wondering why they aren't getting any calls for showings are the ones that have no photos, only 1 photo, or really bad photos.

Kimberly - what are you saying?  That the photos that make buyers frustrated are making us laugh?  They've got to have some redeeming quality!  :-)

Ann - Oh, wow!  You give them much more credit than I would!  Interesting scenario, though!

Robert - True, but a '9' is still not MLS worthy.

Tony - I sure wouldn't want to show that home, either!

Tricia - "Settling"... hmmm... interesting theory.  So, are you saying that the bad photographers lower the bar?  Yikes!

Pictures and virtual tours are so important!  We have sold 2 this year just from the pictures and tours.  The Buyer never say the house in person until AFTER they closed!
