Dallas Real Estate homes for sale, Dallas Apartment Locator, lynn911.com

When you depart company or a professional practice do you notify all your clients, associates, vendors, other friendship you established during your journey of the decision.

Shame and extremely disappointing after research and investigation via State license published list we determine our preferred inspector is no longer practicing.

Myself and team always happy to see him when our clients selected his services due extreme professionalism.  Years of an established professional friendship AND I noticed our home buyers 2009 would make comments "...attempts contact him with no response..."

We even sent e & voice mails ...no response

CLOSING STATEMENT:  Best always keep the door open, one never knows I am unconfirmed if we would place him on our preferred vendor list if he would return to real estate practice.

At least say "...thanks for the memories..."

I agree but sometimes there are personal reasons someone left the business and they want their privacy.  That being said, it is always good to hear from them and maybe they can refer their past clients to someone they trust!

Don't burn your bridges - Good sage advice!  There's also more character in leaving on a positive note, no matter how difficult or undesirable the situation was.

Lynn - It is common courtesy and a standard of professionalism I would expect from any of my vendors.  I know so many other real estate agents that are struggling, looking for part-time jobs to make ends meet, and some facing bankruptcy. People do tend to hide, and some are embarrassed or feel ashamed to face the music with those they served for many years. At the end of the day, the decision to fade out and not let people know they are leaving the business, is yet another action or decision they will continue to pay the price for ... it simply stays with us wherever we go. It's sad ... I wish that person well.

Lynn,

This works both ways, keeping in touch.  One of the problems when a professional joins a firm, agency, company, etc. they start using the business email, this includes those that use their Internet service email (.cox, .aol, etc) or the email provided with phone service (.att, .verizon), once they leave the firm/internet provider/phone service and change to a new firm/internet provider/phone service they lose address books.

It's best to use a free provider i.e. hotmail, gmail, yahoo.   That way no one can take their account from them.

Just a suggestion....

I think under most circumstances a thanks and best wishes is a good way to go.  Sometimes, however, there are personal reasons that make this impossible.

Kenneth YES true in many instances however the person is sole practitioner therefore no excuse, he only communicated via AOL .

It is helpful when people let you know they've moved on, and who they are referring any future clients to so there is a continuum. Some brokerages are even "buying" agent past-client lists and offering referral fees.
