Womanless Beauty Pageant...You Won't Regret It

It's that time again for the annual Duneland YMCA Womanless Beauty Pageant! You heard that right, the Womanless Beauty Pageant! Although there will be plenty of laughs to go around, this is a serious fundraiser to raise the necessary funds to support the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

With a population a little more than 10,000 people, this event is one of the biggest fundraisers for our community YMCA. It also happens to be one of the most theatrical fundraisers that includes local business men competing in evening gowns and swim wear for the titles of Miss-ter Congeniality and Miss-ter YMCA.

Every year this event seems to grow bigger and more lavish. Besides the competition, there is a silent auction that is part of the gala to raise funds. The unique part of the auction is that the men who participate in the contest are responsible for gathering the charity auction items.

Last year, the event raised nearly $27,000 for the YMCA. It truly is amazing what can be achieved when humility is left at the door. Come join us on Saturday, November 6th, for the Duneland Family YMCA Womanless Beauty Pageant...You Won't Regret It!

These are beautiful womanless, James. The event looks like it would be a hoot.

Jane - For being a small conservative town, the event always has people talking for months. It is a blast and people are forewarned not to come if they are not willing to laugh.

Hmmmm. I got to think hard about this one.

Yikes! Now that is just downright scary! I won't point out anyone in particular, but one of those is just WRONG! LOL!

I seen three in that there group, I sure don't think will win. They have a look only a mom can love! LOL. But I sure can see why folks get a hoot, and have fun at this here fundraiser. Hope y'all make even more this year.

Good question. I looked real hard too and couldn't find James anywhere. Maybe his contribution is taking the picture and publicizing the event.

Scary stuff, mustaches, tatoos and bulging muscles.

Loreena - Don't think to hard or you will miss all the fun.

John - The YMCA is trying to raise awareness, not scare folks away. haha

Erby - Just remember it's all done for the kids. As scary as they look, these are well respected gentlemen of the community.

What really the difference... scare... share... sound the same. :-)

It does look like it might be an entertaining evening. Lots of laughs and sounds like it raises quite a bit for the community.

Charles - The evening was a blast and extremely entertaining as the who's who was present. Even witnessed some outrageous behavior of well respected professionals that only occurs one night a year. My guests and I were sore from all the laughing.

Laughing is good for the soul and body.

It's amazing what a little humor will do for you.

It's also amazing what a little humility will do. I'm glad to see these guys giving it up for the kids.

Erby - You better believe it. This year's participants included a member of the Indiana Real Estate Commission, regional recruiting manager for State Farm Insurance as well as several other high profile professionals. I was a platinum sponsor of the event this year and look forward to next year's event.

What a great idea, and I am sure it is a lot of fun to attend. I give the guys credit for participating. It takes some real courage!

Sharon - No courage involved. Everyone believes in the cause and everyone steps up to volunteer each year. And yes it was a lot of fun. Definitely makes you look at the guys who participated in a different vantage point.

Platinum sponsor, Leilani, Platinum sponsor. That's some real bucks I'd bet. Things like that don't happen unless someone is willing to spend some real money for it.

Leilani - If you look really hard, you will see me in action behind the scenes. My role was to stir up the buzz and get butts in the chairs.

Erby - More than the cost of sponsoring the event is the time and energy being an advocate for the kids. This was easy for me as I have little guy running around the house now. Besides, due to past successes the USWA provided the banquet facility free of charge this year.

James - What a great fundraiser, I hope they raised a lot of money again this year.

Michelle - As great of event that this has become, this year's numbers were down and expected due to the economy. Even with that said, they did raise over $22,000 this year. Next year we hope to bank $30,000. Oh yeah!
