Wow a flash from the past - I was born in Mineola - when I saw the headline - I just got all warm and fuzzy. Lived there a couple of times with my grandparents (product of a dysfunctional family - what can I say). I attended the Mineola Jr High for a year and remember the summer at the community pool. I lived in the apartments at Jericho Turnpike and Old Country Road - does that sound right? I remember walking to the Episcopal church - small church if I remember correct - I'm sure well over 100 years old if it is even still standing.
Anyway, I'm thinking of my grandmother (I was the oldest grandchild - so the favored and most spoiled) She has been gone close to 30 years - so any spark that will stimulate a memory of her and those days are a good one.
I guess you just never know how you will reach and touch someone with a simple blog post.
Now Have a Blessed Day,
John Occhi, Hemet CA Realtor
