Wow! Those are some busy bees. Lee keeps bees and we love to see that kind of activity.

Too many busy bees trying to suck the last few drops of nectar from dying flowers.   Reminds me of competing Realtors scrambling to suck sales out of a dried up market using the same old methods.    These bees will be dead in another month.

The way I see it, the only way to collect a fresh and abundant supply of nectar is find fresher flowers.   There's something warm and comforting about living in a greenhouse....if you're a bee.   It may be a stretch in thinking....but there could be a lesson here about method of operation for real estate agents.

Following the swarm is not necessarily a good idea.

Lee and Carol,

Thanks. Didn't know that about the bee keeping. :)

David,

Appreciate the analogy, but this picture was taken in the spring. :)

They are bees?  I had to pull the screen closer as I thought they were ladybugs lol.  Neat looking flower.

Steve,

You always come up with colorful foliage for the dreary time of year that it is here.

Steve ~ Glad to see the bees busy working. They are having difficulty surviving in different parts of the county!

Steve,  You have another great photo.  I like the color and the use of selective focus.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve, Looks like they have quite a work team there.  I hope there's enough pollen to go around on those two flowers.

Sharon,

The common name for these flowers is "powder puff." :)

Monique,

While this is a shot from earlier in the year, it still in the 80s here. :)

Susan,

They kind of tag-team it. The plant has hundreds of blooms. :)

Steve - Between you, and Debi Boucher I am continually in awe of your captures of bees, and little moving life forms on your pictures.  There are a bunch of bees molesting those pretty flowers in this photo of your's.

Lou,

Thank you. Wasn't too hard. They were concentrating on the flowers. :)

Great photo. Those are some "hairy" looking flowers. The bees seem to act as if they hit the jackpot!

Steve, It is a busy time of year!  I have been finding lots of them in my house and my neighbor had a swarm at her house.

Steve love the shot, flower and bees.    For some reason the flower made me think of hair, I suppose I have seen people with that color hair.
