Today, I learned that a good friend and colleague had passed away. This friend was a Soul, waiting to be explored more fully.  The friend, though he knew he was extremely ill, left behind, a fairly new puppy.  He had hope that tomorrow would bring a brighter day.  And, he still had love to give, and though he had lost most of his friends, his wife, and a fair amount of others to this insidious disease, refused to let his life be diminished by love.  The puppy will remain in the family until after all the possessions have been dispersed, and then I believe she will come to me...I don't care one way or the other, I just want her to have the love and care that I know he would have given her.  And, I know that, in the grand scheme of things, she will find her way to my door.

Suzanne,

It would be great if everyone could have the unconditional love that a puppy gives. You're a good friend.

Suzanne, this is so sad and I am so sorry for your loss.  Having only late in my life learned the joys of having a dog, I am so happy that your friend had his puppy to love at the end of his life.  You are a wonderful person and I know that you will love the dog enough for 2 people.

You all are so wonderful....it has been sad to lose the friend, but as Susan put it, he was hopeful until the end, and the joy that the puppy brought was amazing.  We brought him in to him near the end, and you can't believe the joy that one little squirmy thing that can't say a word could bring to someone in pain.  It was a joy to behold.  And, I'm quite sure that he needed less medication and had a huge dose of relief to see that little bundle of joy.

Sorry to hear about your loss.  I have heard of how pets have helped people that are otherwise are alone.  Dogs and cats can provide company, a source of love, laughter and enjoyment.

Pets can bring enjoyment and laughter to those final days, and I suspect that little puppy did exactly that.

Thinking of you

You're last on my list of people to visit today and first on my list of people to visit tomorrow. Make it a great day!

Suze I am so so sorry about your friend.  Life is hard and these types of losses make things harder.  The puppy will help make things alittle easier and will bring you unlimited joy in the future.  {{{HUGS}}}
