The Generosity of Friends

It started with a simple Facebook status update:

Online friends responded with recommendations for We'll Be Here For The Rest of Our Lives by Paul Shaffer;, Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk; Have A Little Faith by Mitch Albom; and 33 Million People In The Room by Juliette Powell.

A fraternity brother from UNLV mentioned Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. I headed to Borders and was browsing the biography section when I got this message from a fellow Keller Williams agent in Virginia:

Amy's kind and generous offer was impressive, and as I finished reading her text and shifted my attention back to the bookshelf, there it was -- Same Kind of Different As Me. I purchased that, along with Warren Buffett's bio The Snowball by Alice Schroeder.

Returning home, I thanked Amy. And I smiled at this small yet powerful connection made through social media. I hope that I can do the same for another one day.

Are you using Facebook for real estate business? I am only using it for family and friends but do see others using it for business.

Hi Richard - I use Facebook for both business and keeping up with friends. Besides my profile page, I have a couple of fan pages set up for different areas.

Thanks John--What a world we live in today...technology gives us the opportunity to communicate with each other across the globe in a moment's time and we have the opportunity to meet new and interesting folks along the way.
